The Alienware AW3926QW is a 38.9-inch curved OLED gaming monitor with a choice between 5120 × 2160 at 165 Hz and 2560 × 1080 at 330 Hz. Its vivid, immersive picture and fast gaming modes are the main attractions; its size and the resolution drop in 330 Hz mode are the key trade-offs. It makes the most sense if you have the desk space and know which mode you will actually use.

A wide, detailed OLED image
At 5120 × 2160, the AW3926QW combines a high-resolution image with an ultrawide curved format. Reviews from Tom’s Guide and TechSpot praise its vivid, sharp presentation and immersive gaming experience. That combination can suit games where a broad field of view and detailed scenery matter.

Two refresh-rate options for different priorities
The 165 Hz high-resolution mode is the more balanced choice for detailed gaming and general use. The 330 Hz mode is aimed at play where very high refresh matters more than resolution, but it runs at 2560 × 1080. TechSpot’s review highlights this faster esports-oriented option; Dell’s specifications confirm the resolution and refresh-rate pairing.
Useful connectivity and USB-C power
The mix of HDMI, DisplayPort 2.1, and USB-C gives buyers several connection routes. The upstream USB-C’s stated 90 W power delivery may be useful for a compatible laptop setup, while the downstream USB-C can charge devices at up to 15 W. Confirm the ports, cable requirements, and supported display mode for your source device before buying.

Cons and practical trade-offs
Its nearly 39-inch size needs space
A 38.9-inch monitor is a substantial piece of desk equipment. Tom’s Guide notes that the size may be too much for some setups. Measure desk width and depth, allow for the stand or chosen arm, and consider your normal viewing distance before committing to a curved screen this large.

330 Hz means giving up most of the resolution
The 330 Hz mode is 2560 × 1080, not 5120 × 2160. If you want the monitor for sharp, high-resolution play, the 165 Hz mode is the relevant specification. If you specifically want the fastest listed refresh rate, decide whether the lower resolution is an acceptable exchange.
Rank #3
- INFINITELY IMMERSIVE: Quantum Dot Display Technology enables a slim panel design and delivers a superior color performance with a higher peak luminance and greater color gamut range vs WOLED (White OLED) by taking the impressive qualities of OLED (such as true blacks & infinite contrast ratio) and enhances color performance by directly converting blue light into the primary colors of red and green through a Quantum Dot pixel layer.
- STUTTER-FREE SPEED: Experience ultra-low latency gameplay, support for HDR and cinematic color, plus smooth, tear-free gaming thanks to AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Technology and VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification.
- IMPECCABLE DESIGN: The jaw-dropping new design features a sleek QD-OLED curved 1800R panel integrated into the iconic new Legend 2.0 ID, plus customizable RGB AlienFX lighting, 360° ventilation for better heat dissipation, improved cable management and a new centralized OSD 5-Axis joystick to make adjusting your settings easier. The height adjustable stand with height markers and the tilt, swivel, and slant capabilities allow for easy viewing adjustment.
- FOR CRITICAL CREATING: For content creators and game developers who require precise color-critical work, the new Creator Mode feature was designed for you. This OSD menu option allows you the flexibility to choose between the native (DCI-P3) and the sRGB color space, depending on your work needs, and the ability to adjust the gamma settings.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE GUARANTEED: The new Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor comes with improved OLED reliability and a 3-year premium warranty, including coverage for OLED burn-in, for additional peace of mind.
The feature set may not fit every budget
This is a premium-feature monitor, but a reliable current price is not established here. Tom’s Guide’s review result showed $1,099 in its review context; that is not a current universal price. Check the price and warranty available in your region at the time you shop rather than treating that figure as a current offer.
Brightness and HDR claims
PC Gamer’s review reports 300 nits full-screen brightness, 1,300 nits peak HDR brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. Those figures are attributed to that review, not presented as independently verified measurements here. The publication year was not confirmed in the retrieved result. See PC Gamer’s review coverage for its assessment.

- QD-OLED technology enables stunningly rich color and clarity, while QHD resolution (2560x1440) provides high level of detail.
- 360Hz refresh rate translates to superb motion clarity, empowering players to see and react to in-game situations at high speed.
- 0.03 ms gray-to-gray minimum response time** virtually eliminates blurring and ghosting and keeps latency to an absolute minimum.
- Infinite contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 make for deep blacks and stunning brights, all in the same scene.
- Excellent color performance with DCI-P3 99.3% color coverage and Delta E<2 accuracy for true-to-life visuals.
Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a large curved OLED for immersive play and value a high-resolution 165 Hz mode.
- Consider it with a specific use in mind if 330 Hz appeals to you: make sure 2560 × 1080 is an acceptable resolution for the games you play.
- Look elsewhere if your desk or viewing distance cannot comfortably accommodate a nearly 39-inch display, or if you expect 330 Hz at the full 5120 × 2160 resolution.
To compare it with other premium ultrawide OLED monitors, focus on resolution and refresh-rate pairings, panel and coating, curve and physical fit, USB-C power delivery, and the current regional price and warranty. The available review evidence does not establish a categorical winner among competing models.
