Its native 5120 × 2160 resolution runs at 165 Hz; its 330 Hz mode drops to 2560 × 1080. At Dell’s US listing price of $1,099.99 on October 7, 2026, it is a premium purchase—not an easy recommendation for every setup.
What the AW3926QW offers
Dell lists the AW3926QW as a 38.9-inch OLED monitor with a 1500R curve and 143 pixels per inch. Its two refresh-rate modes serve different priorities: full 5K2K detail at 165 Hz, or a higher 330 Hz refresh rate at 2560 × 1080. The resolution change matters: 330 Hz does not apply at the native 5120 × 2160 resolution. Dell also lists 0.03 ms GTG in Extreme mode, Dolby Vision HDR, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, 300-nit typical brightness and 1,300-nit peak brightness. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of identical performance in every use case. Dell’s US product listing

For connectivity, Dell lists two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 2.1 input, USB-C upstream with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 90 W power delivery, plus USB hub ports. The included-items list names power, USB-C, DisplayPort, HDMI and USB Type-A to Type-B cables, so buying another cable is only necessary if the supplied one is unsuitable, damaged or too short. Is it good for gaming and work?
Gaming at 5K2K
The native resolution gives games and desktop applications a great deal of horizontal space, while 165 Hz supports high-refresh-rate play. The trade-off is GPU load: driving 5120 × 2160 can demand substantially more from a gaming PC than conventional 1440p. Actual frame rates depend on the game, graphics settings and GPU; there is no single minimum GPU recommendation established here.

When 330 Hz makes sense
The 330 Hz mode is aimed at players who prioritize refresh rate, but it runs at 2560 × 1080 rather than the monitor’s full resolution. That makes it a different performance-versus-detail choice, not a way to get both 330 Hz and native 5K2K. Consider whether the games you play and the image detail you want justify switching modes. Text and everyday desktop use
The panel’s RGB stripe subpixel layout is a notable advantage for mixed work and gaming. RTINGS reports that it reduces letter fringing compared with layouts that use a white subpixel, improving text clarity. WIRED reports roughly 30 percent higher pixel density than 34-inch alternatives; that is the publication’s comparison, not an independently validated benchmark. RTINGS’ review WIRED’s review

Will it fit your desk and room?
At 38.9 inches diagonally, this is a large curved monitor. Tom’s Guide lists its dimensions without the stand as 36.24 × 16.07 × 9.55 inches and notes that its size may not suit every setup. Measure the desk’s usable width and depth, and account for the curve, stand and space for peripherals before ordering. Dell lists VESA mounting support; if using an arm, verify the mount pattern, weight capacity and clearance for a large curved display. Tom’s Guide’s review Dell’s product listing
The glossy screen can deliver a clear-looking image, but reflections can be distracting in a bright room. RTINGS specifically cautions about a sunny window in front of the display. If you cannot control direct light, a matte screen may be a more practical fit. RTINGS’ review

What to consider about OLED burn-in
OLED carries a risk of persistent image retention when the same static elements remain onscreen over time. RTINGS flags prolonged static content such as a constantly open editing program as a concern. This is a use-pattern risk, not evidence that burn-in is inevitable. If your work keeps fixed interface elements visible for long stretches, weigh that pattern against the display’s strengths.
Dell’s US listing describes a three-year limited warranty with Advanced Exchange and Premium Panel Exchange, including OLED burn-in coverage. The listing is US-specific; confirm the warranty and its full terms for your region before purchase. Dell’s US warranty listing RTINGS’ review

How it compares with the LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B
The LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B is a same-size-class alternative worth considering if glare is a bigger concern than text rendering. TechRadar describes its matte anti-glare finish as helpful in bright or sunlit rooms. RTINGS’ comparison says the matte LG reduces glare, while the Alienware’s glossy surface presents a clearer image; it also reports that the Alienware’s RGB layout improves text clarity relative to the LG’s white subpixel layout. These are reviewer findings, and the better fit depends on your room and preferences. TechRadar’s review RTINGS’ comparison

Is the Alienware AW3926QW worth its price?
Dell listed the monitor at $1,099.99 in the US on October 7, 2026; the price can change. It is easiest to justify if you will use both its high-resolution ultrawide workspace and OLED gaming strengths, have a PC suited to the pixel load, and can manage reflections and static-content exposure. If your room is bright, your desk is shallow, or competitive gaming at full resolution is the priority, compare alternatives and measure your setup first. Dell’s US product listing
