For an automatically restarting YouTube playlist, Gyre is the closer fit of the two: Gyre says its playlist restarts when it ends, while Restream says its playlists do not loop. Restream can still work for a scheduled playlist that runs once, or for repeating one video a limited number of times. If you want a cloud service to keep uploaded videos streaming on YouTube around the clock, StreamNeo is another option: it loops uploaded videos and playlists, with any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.
Quick comparison
| Option | What it does for a YouTube playlist | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Keeps uploaded videos or a playlist looping from the cloud. Up to 4K 60fps as uploaded, at one flat price per slot; first day free. | A YouTube operator who wants an always-on cloud stream rather than a scheduled finite playlist. |
| Gyre | Its product page says a playlist restarts when it ends. This is a vendor feature claim, not independent reliability testing. | Someone whose main requirement is an automatically restarting playlist. |
| Restream | Playlists run for up to 24 hours and allow up to 40 entries, but playlists themselves do not loop. Repeating entries manually is finite. | A scheduled playlist that runs once, or a creator who wants Restream’s wider live-streaming and multistream features. |
How the looping difference works
Gyre: automatic playlist restart
Gyre’s official product page describes a continuous playlist workflow and says, “Playlist ends, it restarts.” That makes it the closer documented match when the essential requirement is for a playlist to start over automatically. The statement is Gyre’s own description; it does not establish independently tested uptime or reliability. See Gyre’s product page.

Restream: a finite playlist, not an endless loop
Restream’s Help Center says playlists do not support looping. Its playlist feature supports up to 24 hours and up to 40 videos, so duplicating entries can make a playlist longer but does not create an endless restart. See Restream’s playlist instructions and its looping documentation.

That is not a playlist loop: it repeats an individual video a fixed number of times. If you need several videos to cycle indefinitely, that distinction is decisive.

Which should you choose?
Choose Gyre if the playlist must restart itself
Based on the documented features, Gyre is the better of these two for continuous playlist looping. Confirm the current plan and limits with Gyre before subscribing; the feature description alone does not establish how reliably a particular channel or stream will run.
Choose Restream for a scheduled finite playlist
Restream fits a playlist that can run once for up to 24 hours, subject to the 40-entry cap, or a single video repeated no more than 10 times. Its broader live-streaming and multistream features may matter if you need more than a YouTube playlist, but they do not change the playlist’s no-loop limitation.

Consider StreamNeo for an always-on YouTube cloud stream
StreamNeo is a separate alternative to try first if your goal is to keep uploaded videos or a playlist live on YouTube without leaving a computer running. Long streams and archives
Restream’s stream-duration guidance says YouTube has no stream-duration limit, but says YouTube archives streams shorter than 12 hours. Attribute that archive guidance to Restream’s Help Center rather than treating it as independently verified YouTube policy. Restream also advises restarting its continuous streams every 24 hours because server maintenance could interrupt a longer broadcast. An always-on broadcast therefore should not be treated as a promise of a complete YouTube archive. Read Restream’s stream-duration guidance.

What continuous streaming does—and does not—settle
A service feature that keeps a stream running does not establish that a channel is eligible for monetization, that its videos meet YouTube’s reused-content requirements, or that a particular upload complies with copyright rules. The available product descriptions do not verify any of those outcomes for an individual channel. Review the rights and YouTube policies applicable to your content; do not assume that looping or uninterrupted playback guarantees revenue or audience growth.
