Yes. Palworld is cross-platform in 2026. Players on Steam for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass for PC, PlayStation 5 and Mac can play together in the same multiplayer world. Crossplay was added with version 0.5.0 in March 2025, so the July 10, 2026 version 1.0 release did not newly introduce it.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Palworld servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
For an ordinary hosted world, the host turns on crossplay in the world settings and shares an invite code. Dedicated servers require a platform allow-list and, in some cases, additional network troubleshooting. The exact behavior can change with Palworld patches, so treat the instructions below as a 2026 guide and recheck them after a server or game update.

Current third-party coverage consistently lists these platforms as participating in the same crossplay ecosystem:
| Platform | Crossplay status |
|---|---|
| Steam (PC) | Can join worlds with Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac players |
| Xbox Series X|S | Can join worlds with Steam, PlayStation 5 and Mac players |

This is multiplayer crossplay: people using different hardware can enter the same Palworld world. It does not automatically mean that every form of save transfer, dedicated-server discovery or account progression works identically on every platform. Those features have their own limits and settings.

When did Palworld crossplay launch?
Cross-platform play arrived with Palworld version 0.5.0 in March 2025, according to secondary coverage. That update also introduced the Global Palbox for data transfer and Dimensional Pal Storage. These additions expanded how players could move or access Pal data, but they should not be treated as a guarantee of universal cross-save behavior between every storefront.
Palworld reached its version 1.0 release on July 10, 2026. Launch coverage did not announce a new crossplay feature because the major platform groups were already connected through the earlier 0.5.0 update.
Can PS5 play Palworld with PC?
Yes. A PlayStation 5 player can play with a Steam PC player when both use a compatible, up-to-date version and the host has crossplay enabled. The same invite-code approach used for other platforms is reported to work between PS5 and PC.
If the PC player is using the Xbox Game Pass for PC edition rather than Steam, current third-party platform lists also place that edition in the crossplay group. Because Game Pass handling has not been clearly documented in an official crossplay announcement, update both installations first and use the in-game joining method rather than assuming that a Steam-specific server instruction applies to the Game Pass edition.
Can Xbox and PC play Palworld together?
Yes. Xbox consoles, Xbox Game Pass for PC and Steam PC are listed as able to share a Palworld world. An older account of Palworld’s early crossplay period described the feature as limited to PC and Xbox through Game Pass, but that restriction was later reported as lifted. The current multi-platform consensus includes PlayStation 5 and Mac as well; the earlier limitation is historical rather than a current rule.

Xbox and PC players still need to be on compatible builds. A platform update that leaves one player on an older patch can make a world or invite appear unavailable even when the platform combination itself is supported.
How to enable crossplay in a normal Palworld world
For a standard, non-dedicated world, crossplay is controlled by the host. Each person does not need to find a separate console-wide crossplay switch; the host enables the setting before launching the world.
- Update the game. Install the latest available Palworld update on every platform that will connect.
- Open the world settings. From the host’s world-selection or world-creation screen, open the settings for the world you intend to launch.
- Turn on the crossplay option. Enable the crossplay setting in the world settings. Menu wording can change between patches, so look for the setting that explicitly refers to cross-platform or crossplay connections.
- Launch the world as host. Start the world after saving the setting. Crossplay must be enabled before the session is launched.
- Generate or display the invite code. Use the world’s multiplayer or invite controls to reveal its code.
- Share the code with players on the other platforms. Invite codes are reported to work across PC, Xbox and PS5. Each guest enters the code through Palworld’s multiplayer join flow.
If a guest cannot connect, have the host leave the world, confirm the crossplay setting again and launch a fresh session. Then regenerate the invite code instead of reusing one from a previous session.
How Palworld dedicated-server crossplay works
Dedicated servers use a server-side platform allow-list rather than the host toggle used by a normal world. Palworld’s official configuration reference identifies this setting:
| Configuration item | Documented behavior |
|---|---|
CrossplayPlatforms |
Controls which platforms are allowed to connect; the documented default is (Steam,Xbox,PS5,Mac) |
AllowConnectPlatform |
Retired in the current version; the reference says to use CrossplayPlatforms instead |
To permit the listed platform groups, keep CrossplayPlatforms at its documented default or set it to the platform combination your community needs. Do not rely on old guides that tell you to configure AllowConnectPlatform; the current reference marks that option as unavailable.

Making a dedicated server publicly discoverable
Community setup instructions use the -publiclobby launch argument. On Windows, an example is:
PalServer.exe -publiclobby
On Linux, the corresponding example is:
./PalServer.sh -publiclobby
The argument is intended to expose the server as a public lobby. It does not replace the platform allow-list: the server still needs an appropriate CrossplayPlatforms value.
Do passwords turn off crossplay?
No. A server password limits access to players who know the password; it does not disable cross-platform connections. You can therefore protect a crossplay server with a password while leaving the supported platform list enabled.

Crossplay support on paper does not guarantee that every console can discover or join every community-hosted server. Several reports describe connection or visibility problems, and those reports are community evidence rather than an official compatibility guarantee.
PS5 cannot see the dedicated-server option
One forum thread describes PS5 players unable to see a dedicated-server option even when the documented default platform list was enabled. That report is roughly 574 days old relative to the October 2026 research date, so it may describe an older build or server configuration. Check the current server version, confirm CrossplayPlatforms, and test a newly started server before assuming that PS5 is universally blocked.

Xbox cannot find a community server after editing the platform list
Another Xbox report says that changing CrossplayPlatforms alone did not make a community server visible. The poster attributed the fix to forwarding port 8221 instead of 8211. This is anecdotal, not an official networking requirement, and port forwarding depends on the hosting provider, operating system and existing server configuration. Treat it as a troubleshooting lead: verify which port the server actually listens on, open that same port in the firewall and router, and avoid changing ports blindly on a managed host.
Xbox times out after a public-lobby launch
A separate report describes an Xbox timeout when the server was launched with -publiclobby alongside the deprecated -allowconnectplatform flag. Remove the obsolete flag, use CrossplayPlatforms instead, restart the server and test again. A timeout can also result from a blocked port, an incompatible server build or a client that has not completed the latest update.

Mods cause crashes or failed connections
Outdated or incompatible mods are a common warning in secondary coverage attributed to Pocketpair. A modded dedicated server can fail before the crossplay handshake completes, making a platform problem look like a networking problem. For diagnosis, stop the server, run an unmodded test instance and ask every player to remove or update client-side mods. Reintroduce modifications one at a time only after an unmodded cross-platform connection works.

- Match versions. Confirm that the host, dedicated server and every client are on the same current Palworld build.
- Check the correct setting. For a normal world, verify the host’s crossplay toggle. For a dedicated server, verify
CrossplayPlatforms. - Remove retired arguments. Delete
AllowConnectPlatformor-allowconnectplatformfrom older configurations. - Test without mods. Use a clean server and clean clients to separate mod failures from crossplay failures.
- Confirm visibility mode. If players need to find the server in a public list, launch it with
-publiclobbyusing the correct executable for Windows or Linux. - Check the network path. Confirm the listening port, firewall rule and router or host-provider forwarding. The 8221-versus-8211 change is a community-reported example, not a universal rule.
- Try a fresh session or code. Restart the host or server and generate a new invite code after changing settings.
- Escalate platform-specifically. If Steam works but Xbox or PS5 does not, record the platform, game build, server build, launch arguments and exact error before seeking support.
What crossplay does not prove
- It does not prove identical dedicated-server reliability. Community reports still describe discovery and timeout problems on consoles.
- It does not prove universal cross-save. The Global Palbox and Dimensional Pal Storage added data-transfer features, but those systems are not the same as a promise that every save, achievement or progression state synchronizes across storefront accounts.
- It does not make old configuration guides valid. The official reference specifically replaces
AllowConnectPlatformwithCrossplayPlatforms. - It does not make modded clients interchangeable. A mod mismatch can prevent a connection even when the underlying platforms are supported.
- It does not remove patch risk. Crossplay settings, server behavior and menu labels may change after a Palworld update.
Bottom line for 2026 players
Palworld is cross-platform across Steam PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass for PC, PlayStation 5 and Mac. For a regular world, the host enables crossplay in world settings and shares an invite code. For a dedicated server, use CrossplayPlatforms, not the retired AllowConnectPlatform, and add -publiclobby when public discovery is needed.
The platform feature is established, but dedicated-server behavior is less certain: visibility, ports, outdated launch flags and mods can still block individual players. If a connection fails, first align versions and settings, then test an unmodded server and verify the actual network port before concluding that the platform combination is unsupported.
