Yes, with a caveat: as of October 3, 2026, Mojang says Minecraft Dungeons II should be playable on Steam Deck, and an early hands-on report describes strong performance. But Mojang still flags possible on-screen keyboard issues, and no reliable Steam Deck battery-life figure has been published in the sources available here.
Steam Deck compatibility: playable, but not fully verified
In an October 1, 2026 update, Mojang wrote, “The game should now be playable on Steam Deck.” The same notice cautions that some issues may occur, including missing on-screen keyboard functionality, and says more improvements are planned before full Steam Deck verification. That is a meaningful change from Mojang’s September 30 post, which said Steam Deck support was still in progress. The newer October 1 notice is the more current compatibility status; the earlier post also mentioned crash and stability hotfixes, so checking recent update notes remains sensible. See the September 30 launch update and known issues.
Controls: the known issue is the virtual keyboard
The official warning concerns on-screen keyboard functionality. Steam Deck HQ also notes that players may need to open the virtual keyboard manually. This can matter when entering text, but the available reports do not provide a complete button map or establish that every other control works flawlessly. Read Steam Deck HQ’s hands-on report.

Performance: encouraging early results, not a universal benchmark
Steam Deck HQ’s Noah Kupetsky reported an average of roughly 70–80 FPS using the game’s default Medium settings after the October 1 update. He said performance stayed in that range during combat, visual effects, and groups of enemies. He also found the larger text and closer camera distance comfortable on the Deck.
Those figures are one reviewer’s hands-on observation, not an official benchmark or a guarantee for every Steam Deck. The report does not specify the Deck model, resolution, power profile, or a controlled test procedure. Treat the result as a promising early indication rather than a performance promise.

Battery life: no dependable runtime estimate yet
Neither Mojang’s update nor Steam Deck HQ’s report gives minutes per charge, power draw, or battery percentage lost per hour. The reported frame rate cannot be used to calculate runtime. Without a test that identifies the Deck model, brightness, frame-rate cap, game settings, connectivity, session length, and battery condition, a numerical estimate would be guesswork.

Who is the game a fit for?
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026. Mojang describes it as a solo action RPG or a co-op adventure for up to four players, online or on the couch. Players can combine weapons, armor, enchants, talismans, and artifacts, making the game a plausible portable pick for someone looking for an equipment-focused action RPG with group play. That fit is based on its listed features, not a judgment of the game’s overall quality. See Mojang’s launch overview.
Steam lists single-player, online co-op, shared/split-screen co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer. Its listing showed a $29.99 price and 3,847 English reviews with 65% positive when checked on October 3, 2026; both price and review totals can change. Check the current Steam listing.

Minecraft Dungeons II is worth considering on Steam Deck if you want a portable co-op action RPG and are comfortable with an early, not-yet-verified compatibility state. The current performance report is encouraging, but expect possible virtual-keyboard friction and make your decision without a reliable battery-runtime estimate.
