KnownHost’s managed reseller hosting is aimed at freelancers, agencies and small hosting businesses that want to sell hosting under their own brand through WHM and cPanel. Its four tiers list 25 to 100 cPanel accounts, but storage, bandwidth and account-level resource limits matter just as much as the headline account cap. Pricing also differs between two official pages, so treat displayed figures as snapshots and confirm the full checkout and renewal cost before choosing.
What KnownHost reseller hosting includes
KnownHost presents its reseller service as managed, white-label hosting. You can create and manage separate customer accounts in WHM, use cPanel for account-level administration, and apply your own domain, logo and branding. KnownHost says it provides migration assistance and lists Atlanta, Seattle and Amsterdam data centers on its reseller page; confirm current location availability and routing for your intended customers.

- Account isolation: CloudLinux is listed for separating customer accounts.
- Web stack and storage: KnownHost lists LiteSpeed, LSCache and NVMe storage.
- Certificates: Free SSL certificates are listed.
- Per-account limits: The comparison page lists 2 vCPU, 2 GB of memory and 200,000 inodes per cPanel account.
- Billing automation: WHMCS is described as an optional add-on, not a feature to assume is included.
- Overselling: KnownHost says resellers may oversell allocated resources, but usage still has to fit within the reseller package limits or be reduced or upgraded.
These are provider-listed features, not evidence that every customer account can use its full allocation at the same time without affecting the overall package.
Plans, account caps and listed prices
The comparison page lists four plans and says its displayed starting prices are based on a three-year commitment. It also lists a 30-day money-back guarantee; check the current terms and exclusions before relying on it.
#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Starting price on comparison page | Total storage | cPanel accounts | Bandwidth | Patchman |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic+ | $9.97/month, based on a three-year commitment | 40 GB | 25 | 2,000 GB | Optional |
| Standard+ | $12.97/month, based on a three-year commitment | 80 GB | 50 | 3,000 GB | Optional |
| Professional+ | $17.97/month, based on a three-year commitment | 120 GB | 75 | 4,000 GB | Optional |
| Premium+ | $29.97/month, based on a three-year commitment | 200 GB | 100 | Unlimited | Included |
KnownHost’s separate reseller page showed a different price snapshot: Basic+ from $16.96/month, renewing at $19.95/month; Standard+ from $22.06, renewing at $25.95/month; Professional+ from $30.56, renewing at $35.95/month; and Premium+ from $50.96, renewing at $59.95/month. The pages do not explain the difference. These figures are not a settled checkout quote: verify the selected billing term, promotional and renewal rates, billing cadence, taxes and available location at checkout.
Which KnownHost reseller plan should you choose?
Choose based on the total resources your customer accounts will share, not just the number of accounts the tier permits. Every plan has a per-account resource statement, while the reseller package has its own total storage and bandwidth limits.
Rank #2
- Basic+: The smallest listed allocation—40 GB storage, 25 accounts and 2,000 GB bandwidth—may suit a small client roster if projected usage fits.
- Standard+: Doubles the listed account cap and storage versus Basic+, with 3,000 GB bandwidth.
- Professional+: Lists 75 accounts, 120 GB storage and 4,000 GB bandwidth for a larger roster.
- Premium+: Lists the highest cap, storage and bandwidth, and is the only tier in this comparison table with Patchman included. “Unlimited” bandwidth is the provider’s listed plan value; check applicable terms and resource policies.
Before committing, estimate storage and traffic across client sites, determine how many separate cPanel accounts you actually need, and ask how backups, restoration, migration scope and support response expectations work for the chosen plan. Also clarify whether WHMCS or Patchman is an extra cost for your setup.
Is KnownHost reseller hosting good for uptime, speed and support?
KnownHost’s homepage advertises a 99.99% uptime guarantee. That is the provider’s guarantee claim, not an independently measured availability result for its reseller plans. The material available here does not establish the guarantee’s measurement window or remedies for missing it; inspect the current service-level agreement and terms if contractual uptime protection is important.
Rank #3
The listed LiteSpeed, LSCache, NVMe storage and CloudLinux isolation describe the hosting stack and account separation features, but do not prove real-world speed for a particular site or audience. Compare the data-center location and measured latency to your customers, and ask about current mail filtering and outbound delivery policies if email is central to the service you plan to resell.
KnownHost promotes 24/7 support, backups and migration help. Its site also hosts customer testimonials, many dated July 2023, praising responsiveness and stability; these are selected testimonials rather than representative survey results. An April 2026 WebHostWatch review characterizes KnownHost as more support- and reliability-oriented than a bargain host, but does not report a controlled reseller test. One Reddit user reported an Apdex score rising from 0.03 at a previous provider to 0.87 after moving to KnownHost and averaging around 0.95 in the first few weeks. That is an individual short-term account, not a service-wide benchmark.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
Who is it for—and who should look elsewhere?
Likely fit
- Freelancers and agencies that want separate cPanel accounts for clients while a provider manages server-side hosting.
- Small hosting businesses that want to sell under their own branding and prefer the conventional WHM/cPanel workflow.
- Resellers that value migration assistance and may want a route to higher reseller tiers or managed VPS or dedicated service.
Potential mismatch
- Buyers focused primarily on the lowest monthly price, especially if a long billing commitment is unsuitable.
- Administrators who want a fully self-managed environment or more control than a managed reseller service provides.
- Resellers who need billing automation included rather than offered as an add-on.
- Businesses that need strong contractual uptime assurances or independently verified performance evidence before buying.
What to verify before ordering
- Exact checkout price, billing term, renewal rate, billing cadence and taxes.
- Current availability of Atlanta, Seattle or Amsterdam for the selected plan, plus routing to your target audience.
- Whether Patchman and WHMCS are included, optional or priced separately for your order.
- Backup frequency, retention and restoration terms; migration scope; and support availability and response expectations.
- Per-account CPU, RAM and inode limits alongside package-wide storage and bandwidth limits.
- Current money-back guarantee terms and any exclusions.
- Current mail filtering and outbound email policies if you will host client mail.
