Whether it is a strong ETF right now depends on your risk tolerance, time horizon, and alternatives. The latest reported year-to-date return ends June 30, 2026—not October—so the available figures do not establish its current performance or suitability for you.
What PKB invests in
The Invesco Building & Construction ETF seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Dynamic Building & Construction Intellidex Index. The index screens investment merit using price momentum, earnings momentum, quality, management action, and value. It holds U.S. companies principally involved in building, remodeling, related engineering, or large infrastructure projects. Invesco says the fund and index are rebalanced and reconstituted quarterly, in February, May, August, and November. Invesco’s fund page describes its strategy.

This is a specialized industry allocation, not a broad-market ETF. Invesco’s Q4 2025 fact sheet reported 30 holdings as of December 31, 2025; that dated count should not be treated as the current portfolio size. The same fact sheet reported a 0.03% 30-day SEC yield as of that date. Invesco’s Q4 2025 fact sheet
How PKB’s reported returns compare
The SEC-hosted prospectus dated August 28, 2026 gives two different measurement dates: year-to-date performance through June 30, 2026, and trailing annualized returns for periods ending December 31, 2025. Keep them separate when judging the fund.

PKB’s figures are before-tax fund returns; the prospectus says index returns do not deduct fund fees, expenses, or taxes. The comparison shows PKB ahead of the S&P 500 over the reported five-year period and slightly ahead over ten years, but behind its underlying index in each listed trailing period. These are historical results, not a forecast: the prospectus warns that past performance does not necessarily indicate future results. SEC-hosted PKB summary prospectus, August 28, 2026
For a separate long-term illustration, Invesco’s Q4 2025 fact sheet shows $10,000 growing to $40,319 in PKB and $42,928 in the underlying index as of December 31, 2025. Those figures are a dated historical illustration, not a current account value or a guarantee.
What PKB costs
Invesco lists a 0.57% total expense ratio and a 0.50% management fee. The SEC prospectus estimates costs of $58 after one year and $183 after three years on a hypothetical $10,000 investment, using the prospectus’s stated assumptions. Brokerage commissions and other intermediary charges may add to the cost. SEC-hosted PKB prospectus disclosures, August 28, 2026

Risks that matter for a sector ETF
- Industry concentration: Building and construction companies can be more affected by economic and industry conditions than a diversified fund. Invesco cautions that industry-focused investments are more exposed to market volatility than more diversified investments.
- Non-diversification and company size: The prospectus identifies PKB as non-diversified and warns that small- and mid-sized companies may be more vulnerable to adverse developments and more volatile.
- Equity and tracking risk: Share prices can fall because of broad-market or company-specific developments, and the fund’s return may not match its index. Index returns omit fund fees and expenses.
These risks are material even when recent or long-term returns look favorable. The fund’s industry focus can make its performance diverge from a broad-market benchmark in either direction. The prospectus risk disclosures
How to decide whether PKB fits your portfolio
Before treating PKB as a strong ETF right now, consider whether a concentrated building-and-construction allocation fits your goals, ability to tolerate losses, and investment horizon. A historical comparison alone cannot answer that personal question.
- Check current holdings, price, premium or discount, and performance from up-to-date market and issuer information; the figures above do not verify those details after the stated dates.
- Compare any alternative over matching periods and dates, including expense ratio and trading costs, index construction and weighting, holdings count and concentration, total returns, volatility, and downside behavior.
- Decide whether you want a targeted industry position or broad-market diversification. PKB’s strategy is the former, so it should be evaluated in that context rather than as a substitute for an entire diversified portfolio.
The available figures do not establish a current matched-period ranking against peer construction or homebuilding ETFs. ETF shares are bought and sold through brokerage accounts; brokerage access and any transaction-related costs depend on the provider. Invesco’s fund page
