Is Hostinger’s Hermes Agent VPS Worth It? Plans, Pricing and Test Results

Hostinger offers Hermes Agent on four KVM VPS tiers. Here are the displayed prices and resources, plus the limits of HostAdvice’s KVM 2 performance test.

Hostinger’s Hermes Agent VPS offer combines one-click deployment with four KVM sizes, but the reported performance evidence is limited to one reviewer’s test of the KVM 2 tier. That test used a Phoenix-based client in the same location as the VPS, with Hermes Agent and Traefik already running. Its results are useful context—not a guarantee, a remote-latency test, or a substitute for testing your own workload.

What Hostinger’s Hermes Agent VPS offer includes

Hostinger presents Hermes Agent as a one-click deployment on a Docker-based VPS. Its offer page lists the following US-dollar monthly rates and resources. The page says plans are paid upfront, with the displayed promotional monthly price calculated from the total term price; it also shows higher renewal rates for two years. Check the offer page before buying because pricing and availability can change and may vary by region.

Tier vCPU RAM NVMe storage Bandwidth Displayed promotional rate Displayed renewal rate
KVM 1 1 4 GB 50 GB 4 TB $6.49/month $11.99/month for two years
KVM 2 2 8 GB 100 GB 8 TB $8.99/month $14.99/month for two years
KVM 4 4 16 GB 200 GB 16 TB $12.99/month $28.99/month for two years
KVM 8 8 32 GB 400 GB 32 TB $25.99/month $49.99/month for two years

These are the offer page’s displayed US-dollar figures, not guaranteed future or universal regional prices. Compare the full upfront payment with the renewal cost rather than treating the promotional monthly figure as a month-to-month price. Hostinger’s Hermes Agent VPS offer page is the direct source for the named tiers and offer details.

Features listed on the offer page

Hostinger lists Docker Manager, container logs, one-click updates, AMD EPYC processors, NVMe SSDs, a 1 Gbps network speed, weekly backups, a public API, data centers worldwide, and a 30-day money-back guarantee. These are vendor-stated features and terms; they are not independent measurements of availability or service-level performance.

What the reported performance test measured

HostAdvice’s 2026 review tested KVM 2 in Hostinger’s Phoenix, Arizona data center. It reports Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS with kernel 6.8.0-111-generic, 2 vCPUs, 7.8 GiB of RAM, and a 96 GB NVMe disk. Hermes Agent and Traefik were running in Docker containers during the tests. HostAdvice says baseline use was 2% CPU, 9% memory (about 720 MB), and 12 GB of disk. Its benchmark client server was also in Hostinger’s Phoenix infrastructure, in the same location as the VPS. HostAdvice’s review attributes these setup details to its own test.

HostAdvice test Events per second Average latency 95th-percentile latency
Sysbench CPU, single thread; 10 seconds, prime limit 20,000 1,637.28 0.61 ms 0.63 ms
Sysbench CPU, two threads; 10 seconds, prime limit 20,000 3,169.00 0.63 ms 0.67 ms

Those are figures published by HostAdvice for that KVM 2 setup, not tests conducted for this article, an official provider benchmark, or a service guarantee. Because the client and VPS were in the same Phoenix location, the results do not establish latency from your home, performance from another region, or how a different agent workload will behave.

What the test does—and does not—tell you

The test offers a configuration-specific snapshot of CPU throughput and the reviewer’s reported baseline resource use while Hermes Agent and Traefik were active. It does not establish how the VPS performs with more concurrent tasks, different tools, or a remote client. HostAdvice also notes that its test server had no swap configured and that, if RAM is exhausted, Linux’s OOM killer may terminate processes instead of the system falling back to swap. That is a detail of the reviewed configuration, not evidence that every VPS is configured the same way.

Which tier should you consider?

KVM 2 is the only tier in the sources with Hermes-specific benchmark data. That makes it the tier with a reported test to examine, not a universal recommendation. The available sources do not establish official minimum or recommended CPU or memory requirements for Hermes Agent, so a particular tier cannot be called a verified minimum.

  • Consider KVM 1 only if its 1 vCPU and 4 GB RAM allocation fit the workload you intend to run; the available test does not show how Hermes Agent performs on this tier.
  • Use KVM 2 as a reference point if you want to compare your needs with the configuration HostAdvice tested. Its 2 vCPUs and 8 GB listed RAM are not proof that this size is sufficient for every deployment.
  • Compare KVM 4 or KVM 8 against your expected concurrency and resource use if you plan heavier workloads. The sources provide their allocations and prices, but no Hermes-specific performance results for either tier.

For any tier, account for the term payment and renewal amount, then evaluate the workload you actually plan to run. Leave headroom for the operating system, containers, and other services you deploy; monitor resource use after setup and adjust if your workload needs more capacity.

Are you comfortable managing a VPS?

A one-click deployment can simplify initial setup, but it does not by itself answer who handles ongoing system administration. TechRadar describes Hostinger’s general VPS plans as unmanaged; that is provider context, not a Hermes-specific service test. TechRadar’s 2026 Hostinger review is the source for that characterization. Before choosing, confirm which maintenance and support responsibilities apply to the exact plan, including operating-system updates, security configuration, backups, and troubleshooting.
