As of October 7, 2026, Dressmaker is released on Steam for Windows and macOS. A Nintendo Switch port is planned, but the developer’s September 21, 2026 announcement gives no release date. The official sources checked do not list PlayStation or Xbox versions. Steam Deck is a portable way to play the Steam version, not a native console release.

How to verify a claimed console release
- Check the official Steam listing. It confirms the released PC versions and their system requirements: Dressmaker on Steam.
- Search the console’s official store. Look for a product listing on Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store. A wishlist, fan post, third-party key page, or mention of a planned port does not establish that a version is available to buy or download.
- Check current developer or publisher announcements. The developer’s Steam announcements include the September 21, 2026 launch post, which says mobile and Switch ports are planned but supplies no date: Dressmaker announcements.
- Match the claim to the evidence. Call a game “available” on a platform only when an official store listing or a current official release announcement supports that wording. Recheck close to purchase, since plans and availability can change.
What the Switch announcement does—and does not—confirm
The Dressmaker Team wrote in its September 21, 2026 Steam launch announcement: “We’re also planning mobile and Switch ports, which have been requested constantly on our various social media channels.” That confirms a plan at the time of the announcement, not a released Switch edition or a scheduled launch date. Is Steam Deck the same as a console version?
No. Steam Deck is a handheld PC that can run the Steam version; it is not a native Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox edition. The developer said the game runs fast on Steam Deck, while also noting that proper controller support was still planned at launch.
