Yes. Active Matter supports cross-platform multiplayer between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Console players can select a matchmaking pool for their own platform, for consoles together, or for all supported platforms. Cross-play does not mean that saved progress transfers between PC and console.
Which platforms can play together?
The official Active Matter FAQ, last updated September 15, 2026, confirms cross-platform multiplayer. The listed platforms are PC through Steam or the Gaijin Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game’s FAQ puts it simply: “Yes, we have cross-platform multiplayer.”

That means players on different supported platforms can be matched into the same multiplayer pool. The official sources confirm the feature, but do not specify detailed input rules or how mixed-platform matches are balanced.

The FAQ describes three platform scopes for console matchmaking. A developer Q&A published September 7, 2026 says these are separate queues and that players must select or confirm their choice in settings.

The “consoles” option is the relevant choice if you want cross-console play but do not want to select the all-platform pool. The sources do not say whether you can change this while queued or whether you must choose it separately for each match.
How does cross-play affect multiplayer?
The choice determines which platform groups are eligible to share the matchmaking pool. It does not establish how many players are in each pool, how quickly matches form, or whether one queue is more competitive or balanced than another. No current official player-count, queue-time or cross-play performance figures are published in the cited material.

The official sources also do not establish whether aim assist differs across platforms, whether mouse-and-keyboard players are restricted, or what input-matching rules apply. PC supports controllers, according to the FAQ, but that alone does not establish input parity or matchmaking behavior.
Does progress transfer between platforms?
Cross-play and cross-progression are different features. Cross-play lets players on different platforms play together; cross-progression makes saved progress available when a player moves between platform versions.

The FAQ’s dedicated answer says PC-to-console progress transfer is not available. It says progress is shared between the Steam and Gaijin.Net versions on PC. However, the official homepage and launch announcement use broader wording that says progress is shared “across all platforms.” Because that conflicts with the FAQ’s specific transfer answer, do not assume PC progress will carry over to a console account.
