007 First Light is a single-player, third-person action-adventure game. IO Interactive describes it as combining stealth and action, set within an original, reimagined origin story for a young James Bond. PlayStation lists the game as a single-player experience. IO Interactive’s May 21, 2026 launch announcement gave May 27, 2026 as the release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nintendo Switch 2 was listed for summer 2026; the current Switch 2 date is not established here.
How much freedom do the missions offer?

Does it have replay options?
A TechRadar report dated October 1, 2026 says the Extended Operations update added New Game Plus and a 00 difficulty. These modes provide additional ways to replay the game. They do not, by themselves, establish that story missions have been redesigned or that replay offers the same degree of variation from one mission to another.

Can you play the campaign offline?
007 First Light Player Support says the full campaign is playable offline after the first patch. This does not mean the initial download, installation or patch can be completed offline; you need to account for that setup before relying on offline access.

Choose 007 First Light if a Bond story with a cinematic mix of stealth and action sounds appealing, and you are comfortable with mission freedom that may vary rather than expecting every level to work like a deep sandbox. If your main reason for playing is extensive, repeatable mission experimentation, the available evidence gives reason to be cautious rather than promising that experience across the campaign.
