The iQOO 16 has higher listed display resolution and refresh rate, a more extensive rear-camera system with a periscope telephoto, and larger memory and storage options. The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G lists a nearly equal battery capacity and may cost less in some markets, but the available prices are from different regions and do not establish which phone is the better value where you live.

What the specification differences mean
Display: higher listed resolution and refresh rate on iQOO
The iQOO 16’s listed screen is slightly larger and has more pixels and a higher maximum refresh rate. That is a paper-spec advantage, not proof that its display looks better in everyday use: the cited specifications do not provide a comparative image-quality assessment.
#1 Best Overall
- apple iphone 16e; iphone 16e 128gb; apple smartphone; iphone eSIM; unlocked iphone
Performance and storage: iQOO has higher listed tiers
The iQOO is specified with a sixth-generation Snapdragon 8-series platform, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi lists the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This makes the iQOO configuration the more expansive one on paper; the chip names alone do not establish a benchmark score or quantify real-world speed.
Battery and charging: similar capacities, different features
The listed typical capacities differ by just 60 mAh: 8,400 mAh for iQOO and 8,340 mAh for Redmi. Capacity figures alone cannot show which lasts longer, because comparable battery-life testing is not available here. The iQOO lists higher-wattage wired charging and wireless charging; the Redmi lists wired reverse charging. Xiaomi’s Peru page says a 67 W charger is included, but packaging can vary by market and seller.

- 128 GB Flash Memory
Cameras: iQOO adds a periscope telephoto
The iQOO lists three 50 MP rear cameras, including a periscope telephoto, while the Redmi lists a 50 MP stabilized main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. Both specify optical image stabilization on the main camera; iQOO also lists it on the periscope camera. Their stated front-camera and video capture resolutions also favor iQOO on paper. These specifications do not establish photo or video quality, and megapixel counts are not a substitute for camera testing.

vivo’s China page gives iQOO 16 suggested retail prices by configuration. The Redmi prices available in the cited coverage refer to early launch markets, not a confirmed price in the same country. The figures therefore cannot answer which phone is cheaper in a buyer’s local market.

| Phone and source | Published price information | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| iQOO 16, vivo/iQOO China | CNY 5,999 (12 GB + 256 GB); CNY 6,799 (12 GB + 512 GB); CNY 7,499 (16 GB + 512 GB); CNY 8,499 (16 GB + 1 TB) | China suggested retail prices for the stated configurations; not global prices. Source |
| Redmi Note 17 Pro, Cinco Días report dated 28 August 2026 | Approximately €343 starting equivalent | Reported as a reference conversion from early launch markets, not a confirmed Spanish retail price. The report said Spain’s launch timing and pricing were unconfirmed at that date. Source |
The Xiaomi Peru specifications page does not establish a current local price. A 91mobiles comparison result displayed ₹36,999 for the Redmi, but it does not establish a matched, current iQOO offer and contains inconsistent fields; it is not a sound basis for calculating a price difference. See the comparison result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the iQOO 16 if its local version and price suit you and you want the higher listed display specifications, a periscope telephoto, wireless charging, or more RAM and storage headroom.
- Consider the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if its local price is lower and its listed camera, memory and charging configuration meets your needs. Its battery capacity is close to the iQOO’s on paper, but that does not prove equal endurance.
No independent benchmark, battery comparison or camera test is established by the cited sources, so a definitive real-world performance or value winner cannot be named from these specifications alone.

Check these details before buying
- Compare same-country prices for matching storage tiers. Use current offers for the exact configurations rather than converting one region’s suggested price against another market’s launch reference.
- Confirm the regional model. The cited iQOO specifications are for China and the Redmi specifications are from Xiaomi Peru. Verify network-band support, local warranty and the exact model number with the seller.
- Check software and packaging for that variant. Confirm the installed software version and local update information, and ask whether the advertised charger is included in the specific seller’s box.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
