Tipster Yogesh Brar says the iQOO 16 is being tested in India, but iQOO has not confirmed an Indian launch. The phone is already official in China; whether it will reach India, and at what price, remains unresolved.
What the India-testing report actually says
On October 2, 2026, Brar said the iQOO 16 was being tested in India. My Mobile India reproduced his post: “iQOO 16 is being tested in India. But if it launches close to Rs 1 lakh, I don’t think it will be easy to sell. (same pricing problem for OnePlus also) What’s the maximum price you would pay for it?” The Tech Outlook and My Mobile India attribute the claim to Brar, not to iQOO.

That makes this a tip about testing, not an announcement. The reviewed reporting had no official confirmation of an India launch, launch date or Indian price. The Tech Outlook also reported that it had not found the model number in India’s BIS certification database at the time; that absence is not proof that a launch will or will not happen.

It is possible, but the available evidence does not establish that iQOO has decided to launch it in India. In July, Brar was reported as saying the phone might skip India because of rising component costs. His October testing claim is a change in reported speculation, not a confirmed company decision. 91mobiles reported the earlier view; neither tip settles the outcome.

For now, the careful answer is that an India launch is unconfirmed. Testing, if the tip is accurate, could indicate consideration of an India release, but it does not by itself establish a launch plan or timing.
The iQOO 16 is already official in China
iQOO released the phone in China on September 29, 2026, according to the official vivo/iQOO China newsroom. The official China product page lists these suggested retail prices and configurations:
| China configuration | China suggested retail price |
|---|---|
| 12GB + 256GB | CNY 5,999 |
| 12GB + 512GB | CNY 6,799 |
| 16GB + 512GB | CNY 7,499 |
| 16GB + 1TB | CNY 8,499 |
These are China-market prices, not Indian prices or a reliable conversion into an eventual India retail price. Brar’s “close to Rs 1 lakh” remark is a hypothetical concern about possible India pricing, not an announced figure. The official China specifications and pricing apply to the China model; India-variant details have not been established.

These are specifications for the China model, not confirmation that an India version would be identical.

There is not yet a confirmed Indian configuration, price or availability to assess. Brar’s question about the maximum price readers would pay is an invitation to discuss value, not a price announcement. Buyers considering the phone should wait for iQOO to confirm whether it is coming to India and publish local pricing and specifications.

- An official iQOO India announcement confirming availability or a launch date.
- India-specific product details, including the model and configuration being offered.
- An announced Indian price, rather than speculation based on the China price or Brar’s estimate.
Until then, the India-testing claim remains attributed to a tipster, and the launch outcome is open.
