iPhone Duo preorders begin Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time in more than 70 countries and regions, according to Apple’s announcement. Availability starts October 23 in those markets; 28 additional countries and regions are scheduled to get it from October 30. Apple has announced the U.S. starting price and the available storage capacities, but its announcement leaves important questions about dimensions, durability, repairs, full prices and real-world performance unanswered.
When do iPhone Duo preorders open?
Apple says preorders open Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5 a.m. Pacific Time in more than 70 countries and regions. Availability begins Friday, October 23, in those markets. Apple lists 28 additional countries and regions for availability beginning October 30. What has Apple announced about price, storage and accessories?
Apple lists four storage capacities: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB. The U.S. starting price is $1,999, or $83.29 per month for 24 months. The announcement does not provide a separate price for each capacity, and that U.S. starting price should not be treated as the price of every configuration or market.

What are the seven unanswered buyer questions?
1. What are the folded and unfolded dimensions and weight?
Apple gives the display sizes—7.6 inches inside and 5.4 inches outside—but the announcement does not state numerical body dimensions in either configuration or the phone’s weight. Those details matter when judging pocketability, one-handed use and how the phone compares with a buyer’s current device.
2. How visible is the crease during everyday use?
Apple says its precision hinge minimizes crease visibility, but provides no crease measurement or independent assessment in the announcement. The wording is a company claim, not a quantified result or a guarantee that the crease will be unnoticeable in every setting.

The announcement uses qualitative durability language but gives no numerical hinge-cycle test result. Without a published test method and result, buyers cannot use the announcement to estimate how many folds the hinge is rated to withstand. It also does not provide hands-on evidence of durability.

Apple’s announcement does not establish repair prices, warranty exclusions or service turnaround for the foldable display and hinge. Those terms may depend on the country and applicable coverage, so consult current official service information and local warranty terms before buying; do not assume that a particular type of damage is covered.

5. What does each storage tier cost in each country?
The announcement names the capacities and gives a U.S. starting price, but not a complete price ladder. It does not support calculating the prices of larger capacities from the entry price, nor applying the U.S. figure to another market. Wait for the relevant local price list before choosing a configuration.
6. Which carriers and sellers offer financing or trade-in deals?
Apple’s launch announcement identifies broad launch geography, not the specific terms offered by carriers or retailers. It does not establish trade-in values, eligibility rules, financing costs or seller delivery dates. Compare the total price for the chosen storage capacity, financing term and cost, trade-in conditions, delivery timing, and warranty or service coverage using offers available in your market.

7. What battery life and camera performance will independent tests find?
Apple describes all-day battery life and camera capabilities, but an announcement is not an independent test. It lists 48MP Fusion Main and Ultra Wide rear cameras, along with additional camera features; it does not establish real-world battery endurance or independent camera results. Those outcomes remain unknown until credible testing is available.
What specifications has Apple confirmed?
Apple describes iPhone Duo as its first foldable iPhone. Its announced specifications include a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display, an A20 Pro chip, a precision hinge, a dual-battery architecture and a custom-designed vapor chamber. Apple also lists 48MP Fusion Main and Ultra Wide rear cameras. These are specifications and descriptions from Apple, not independent findings.

Apple reports 35 percent recycled content overall, including 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery and 100 percent recycled titanium in the 3D-printed hinge cover. It also says manufacturing uses 60 percent renewable energy across the supply chain. These are company-published figures, not independently verified figures in the announcement.
What should you verify before ordering?
- Confirm the preorder time and availability date for your country or region.
- Check the local price for your chosen storage capacity rather than extrapolating from the U.S. starting price.
- Read the seller’s complete financing and trade-in terms, including eligibility and total cost.
- Confirm the promised delivery date and the applicable warranty and service coverage.
- Decide whether you need a case or folio, and verify local accessory availability and pricing.
Apple CEO John Ternus called the phone “the most transformational change to iPhone since the original” in the company’s announcement. That is an executive’s characterization, not an independent assessment of the device.
