The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is $100 cheaper than the iPhone 18 Pro at the US retail starting prices listed by AT&T: $1,099.99 versus $1,199.99. It also has the larger display, while Apple lists three 48MP rear cameras and Samsung lists a 50MP, 12MP and 10MP rear-camera system. Those specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos or performs faster.
Price difference: $100 at AT&T in the US
AT&T lists the iPhone 18 Pro at a US retail starting price of $1,199.99 and the Galaxy S26+ at $1,099.99, making Samsung’s listed starting price $100 lower. These are prices on one carrier’s comparison page, not universal prices; retailer, market and date can change the amount. AT&T’s comparison page also shows lower monthly costs and $0 offers subject to qualifying trade-ins, plan requirements and installment credits over 36 months. Treat those as conditional promotions, not the phones’ unconditional prices. Tom’s Guide separately reported a US S26+ starting price of $1,099 and official sales beginning March 11, 2026, but that is secondary coverage rather than a live retailer check. Specifications come from Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro technical specifications, Samsung’s UK Business Galaxy S26+ product page and AT&T’s US comparison. The market and source differ by row: the Samsung product page is for the UK, while the cited price comparison is US carrier pricing.
Which phone has the bigger screen?
The Galaxy S26+ has the larger listed display: Samsung gives 6.7 inches measured across the full rectangle, or 6.5 inches when rounded corners are accounted for. Apple specifies a 6.3-inch diagonal display for the iPhone 18 Pro. The Samsung is the larger-screen choice by these manufacturer measurements; the iPhone is the more compact option. The diagonal figures use different stated conventions, so they should not be read as an exact comparison of usable screen area.

What the camera specifications do—and do not—tell you
Apple lists three 48MP rear cameras, including a telephoto system with 4x and 8x optical-quality steps. AT&T lists the Samsung system as a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto. The numbers describe hardware, not photo quality: megapixels alone do not account for lenses, sensors, stabilization or image processing. No controlled head-to-head image test is established by these specifications, so they do not support naming a camera winner.
Processors, software and AI features
Apple specifies its A20 Pro chip. AT&T identifies the Galaxy S26+ processor as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, while Samsung cautions that application-processor type can vary by country, region or carrier. These names identify the listed hardware, but there is no comparable benchmark here to determine which phone is faster, more efficient or better under sustained workloads.

Apple describes Apple Intelligence and Siri AI on the iPhone. Samsung describes Galaxy AI, Now Nudge, privacy controls and One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S26+. Feature availability can depend on language, region, supported apps, account or network requirements; Samsung explicitly notes such qualifications for some features. The product descriptions do not establish that either assistant or software experience is categorically better.
Water resistance is not waterproofing
Both manufacturers specify IP68, but their published depth conditions differ. Apple states a maximum depth of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. Samsung describes testing in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes and warns that water and dust resistance may diminish with normal wear. These are manufacturer test claims under stated conditions, not a guarantee against water damage in every situation.
Rank #3
- The large 6.9-inch display combines ProMotion 120Hz technology with advanced color calibration, giving movies, games, and productivity apps a spacious, crisp, and fluid visual experience that’s ideal for multitasking or immersive media consumption.
Battery life and charging: no direct winner established
Samsung lists a rated 4,755mAh battery capacity for the S26+ and explains that its typical capacity is an estimated average. AT&T displays Apple’s claim of up to 36 hours for the iPhone, but the comparison does not establish an equivalent Galaxy test protocol. Capacity and a single manufacturer’s battery claim are not enough to decide which phone lasts longer; the available figures also do not settle comparative charging speed.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose based on the listed starting price: the Galaxy S26+ is $100 less at AT&T’s US retail starting prices; other sellers and markets may differ.
- Choose based on screen size: Samsung lists the larger display, while Apple’s listed diagonal is smaller.
- Choose based on the ecosystems and features you use: compare Apple and Samsung’s software, AI features, supported apps and regional availability against your own needs.
- Do not decide from specs alone if camera quality, speed or battery endurance is the deciding factor; the figures here do not provide controlled comparisons for those outcomes.
Accessories and box contents
Samsung says the Galaxy S26+ box does not include a travel adapter and describes a separately sold Magnet Case for the S26 line. Check the exact phone model, region and listing before buying a case or USB-C adapter; box contents and accessory fit can vary, and the cited product information does not verify third-party compatibility.
