Apple calls the frame and exterior design an “aluminum unibody design” and describes it as a “strong aluminum unibody.” That establishes Apple’s construction label, but the reviewed pages do not provide further details about the aluminum alloy or a quantified strength rating. The presence of an aluminum unibody also does not mean the glass surfaces are immune to damage.

What Apple has not claimed in the reviewed specifications
- That either shield is scratch-proof, crack-proof, or unbreakable.
- That the front outperforms the back across all types of damage.
- A specific chemical formula, layer structure, or manufacturing process for either shield.
