The iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 11 Pro share a 6.3-inch display size, but they are not equivalent product tiers: Apple’s is its standard model, while Google’s is a Pro phone. The clearest hardware difference is camera reach: Pixel 11 Pro has a dedicated 5x optical telephoto camera; iPhone 17 offers an optical-quality 2x option. In the US, Apple’s listed iPhone prices were $899 for 256GB and $1,099 for 512GB on October 7, 2026. Google showed a $1,099 reference price for Pixel 11 Pro, with a conditional offer from $419 after eligible trade-in and discount—not a no-trade-in price.

How the displays differ
Both makers describe a 6.3-inch screen. Their published figures differ: Apple lists 2622 × 1206 resolution and 460 pixels per inch, while Google lists 1280 × 2856 and 495 pixels per inch. Those specifications alone do not establish which screen looks better to a particular viewer.

Apple lists ProMotion with adaptive refresh up to 120Hz. Google specifies a 1–120Hz range for the Pixel 11 Pro. A higher maximum refresh rate is not a distinction here; the published range shows that Google states a 1Hz minimum, while Apple describes adaptive refresh without giving a minimum in the cited specification.

Camera zoom: Pixel has the longer optical reach
The Pixel 11 Pro has a dedicated 48MP 5x optical telephoto camera. Google also lists Pro Zoom up to 120x, a manufacturer zoom specification rather than a measure of resulting image quality. The iPhone 17 has a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide, with an optical-quality 2x option; Apple’s specification does not describe a separate 5x telephoto camera.
That makes the Pixel the clearer hardware choice for a dedicated longer optical zoom. It does not prove that it takes better photos overall: camera quality depends on more than zoom hardware, and the official specifications do not provide a matched side-by-side photo or video test.

Storage, weight and processing
Both phones are listed with 256GB and 512GB configurations. Google also lists a 1TB Pixel 11 Pro, giving it the higher published storage ceiling. Choose capacity based on how much local video, photography, apps and other files you expect to keep.

The iPhone is lighter according to those published figures. The phones use different processors—Apple’s A19 and Google’s Tensor G6—so the model names alone do not establish a performance winner. A fair speed verdict would require comparable independent benchmarks.

Software support: Google states a seven-year commitment
Google says the Pixel 11 Pro will receive seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Apple’s consulted iPhone 17 specification page identifies iOS but does not state a comparable numeric support period. That means Google provides the clearer published duration; it does not establish how long Apple will support the iPhone 17 in practice.
US prices and the trade-in distinction
Prices below refer to US listings. Apple’s current shop display was observed on October 7, 2026; Google’s US listing was observed on the same date. Store prices and offers can change.

| Phone and price type | Storage | Price |

| iPhone 17, Apple US shop listing observed October 7, 2026 | 512GB | $1,099 |

| Pixel 11 Pro, Google Store US conditional offer observed October 7, 2026 | Offer listing | From $419 after eligible trade-in and discount |
The $419 figure is conditional and should not be treated as the Pixel’s ordinary unlocked price. Google also displayed financing; monthly payments are not comparable unless the financing terms match. For a meaningful price check, compare the same country and storage capacity, and separate the full listed price from trade-in credits or carrier promotions.
For historical context, Apple announced a US iPhone 17 starting price of $799 in September 2025, with 256GB and 512GB configurations. That launch price is not the current Apple shop listing. See Apple’s launch announcement, the Apple US shop and Google’s US Pixel 11 Pro listing for the cited prices and specifications.

Battery claims do not settle endurance
Google lists a typical 4850mAh battery capacity and claims 30+ hours of battery life. These are Google’s specifications and manufacturer claim, not an independent comparison. Apple’s consulted specification page does not provide a comparable battery-capacity figure. The published information here therefore cannot establish which phone lasts longer in ordinary use.
Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose the Pixel 11 Pro for zoom hardware or maximum listed storage: it has a dedicated 5x optical telephoto camera and a 1TB configuration.
- Consider the iPhone 17 if low listed weight matters: Apple’s published figure is 177g versus Google’s approximately 204g.
- Prioritize a clearly stated update duration: Google publishes a seven-year OS, security and Pixel Drop commitment; the cited Apple page gives no numeric period.
- Compare prices only after checking terms: the Google figure from $419 requires eligible trade-in and discount, while Apple’s displayed prices are listed by storage capacity.
If your deciding factor is overall camera quality, real-world speed or battery endurance, these specifications do not settle it; look for independent tests that compare the phones under the same conditions.
