What does the iPhone 17’s higher price add?
A larger, smoother, brighter display
Apple lists a 6.3-inch OLED display for the iPhone 17 and a 6.1-inch OLED display for the 17e. Both are listed at 460 ppi, but the 17 also includes Dynamic Island, Always-On, and ProMotion adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Apple does not list those features on the 17e’s specification page, so that omission should not be read as a broader claim about undocumented behavior.

Check the iPhone 17e’s eSIM compatibility
Apple says the U.S. iPhone 17e is not compatible with physical SIM cards and uses eSIM. Apple also cautions that eSIM requires a wireless service plan, not every carrier supports it, and some carrier-purchased iPhones may have eSIM disabled. Confirm eSIM support with your carrier and check the configuration for the country where you plan to use the phone before buying.
