If you want a large premium Android phone instead of an iPhone 17 Pro Max, compare the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and OnePlus 15. The Galaxy is the hardware-led camera option, the Pixel is the fit for Google software and a large display, and the OnePlus stands out in one published battery test. None is established as the best choice for every buyer.
Which Android phone is the best fit?
| Your priority | Phone to consider | What the cited evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| Camera hardware and zoom flexibility | Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra | Samsung lists a 200 MP wide camera, 50 MP telephoto and 50 MP ultra-wide camera. These specifications do not establish better photos or video than the iPhone in every situation. |
| Google software and a large screen | Google Pixel 10 Pro XL | It has a 6.8-inch display, and TechRadar highlights Google’s software and AI positioning while noting performance can lag competing phones. |
| Endurance in Tom’s Guide’s test | OnePlus 15 | It lasted the longest in that outlet’s continuous 5G web-browsing test; actual runtime varies with use. |

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: consider it for camera hardware
Samsung’s US product page lists the Galaxy S26 Ultra from $1,299.99 before trade-in. Its published specifications include a 6.9-inch display and a 5,000 mAh battery, as well as the three rear cameras listed above. Samsung also describes the phone as having a built-in Privacy Display. These are manufacturer-listed features, not a controlled comparison with the iPhone. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Tom’s Guide’s 2026 Samsung guide also positions the Ultra as a premium power-user choice, citing its large screen and camera hardware, and lists 60W wired charging. Those editorial judgments and specifications make it a candidate if you value camera options and a big display; they do not prove it wins every photo or video comparison. The Pixel 10 Pro XL combines a 6.8-inch display with Google’s software and AI positioning. Google lists a typical battery capacity of 5,200 mAh and a US starting price of $1,199. Its specifications say wired charging can reach 70% in about 30 minutes with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher; the charger is sold separately. TechRadar’s 2026 guide describes the Pixel 10 series as pairing Google’s AI software with high-end hardware, while noting that performance can lag competing phones. OnePlus 15: consider it for the cited battery result
Tom’s Guide measured battery endurance by continuously browsing the web over 5G at 150 nits of screen brightness. In that 2026 test, the OnePlus 15 lasted 25 hours 13 minutes, ahead of the iPhone 17 Pro Max at 17 hours 54 minutes, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra at 16 hours 10 minutes and the Pixel 10 Pro XL at 14 hours 20 minutes. This is a result from one defined test protocol, not a promise of everyday battery life; screen settings, signal conditions and workload can change runtime. TechRadar names the OnePlus 15 its best overall Android phone in its 2026 guide, citing performance, battery life, cameras and value. Treat that as the publication’s ranking, not a universal consensus. Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow to choose between them
- Choose around the camera system you want: the Galaxy’s published camera hardware offers multiple rear-camera options, but megapixel counts alone cannot predict which phone will produce the images you prefer.
- Put software first: the Pixel is the clearest fit here if Google’s software and AI features are the draw; weigh TechRadar’s performance caveat against that preference.
- Use battery results as a clue, not a guarantee: the OnePlus led the stated test, but your own runtime depends on how and where you use the phone.
- Check the price in your market: Samsung’s $1,299.99 and Google’s $1,199 are US-listed starting prices. Configurations, promotions, carrier offers and non-US prices can differ or change.
- Account for the switch itself: consider screen size, the software you rely on, and whether your current services and routines work well on Android before changing ecosystems.
What the comparison cannot settle
The cited material does not provide a controlled iPhone-versus-Android camera comparison, a single real-world battery result for every owner, or a current OnePlus US price. These phones are credible premium candidates with different strengths, but the available evidence does not identify one universal winner. Prices and availability are time-sensitive; check the manufacturer’s current listing and local offers before buying.
