The iPhone 17 is the more natural fit if you want iOS and Apple’s ecosystem; the realme 15 Pro 5G puts more emphasis on a larger, faster-refreshing display, higher stated battery capacity and faster wired charging. For India, a Smartprix snapshot dated October 1, 2026 listed the iPhone 17 at ₹99,900 and the realme at ₹34,799—but those are marketplace comparison prices, not guaranteed checkout totals. Check the exact storage variant, seller and current offers before deciding.

Choose the iPhone 17 if iOS is the priority
The iPhone 17 makes more sense if you prefer iOS or rely on Apple devices and services. That preference can matter more to day-to-day ownership than a difference in refresh rate or battery capacity. The available specifications alone do not establish which phone is faster in comparable real-world use.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Choose the realme 15 Pro 5G if screen size and charging matter most
realme’s listed 6.8-inch, 144Hz display is larger and has a higher stated refresh rate than the iPhone 17’s 6.3-inch, 120Hz panel in the Smartprix comparison. The realme’s 7000mAh typical battery and up-to-80W charging may also appeal if capacity and wired charging speed are priorities. Display size and feel are personal preferences, and the published battery capacities do not establish which phone lasts longer in ordinary use.
Display size and handling
The listed diagonal measurements put the realme 0.5 inches above the iPhone 17. A larger display can offer more room for video, reading and multitasking, while a smaller one may suit people who prefer a more compact handset. Refresh rate is another distinction: the listed figures are 144Hz for the realme and 120Hz for the iPhone. These numbers describe refresh rate, not a guarantee that one screen will look better; panel quality, software and individual preference also matter.

Battery and charging: capacity is not runtime
realme states a 7000mAh typical capacity and 6830mAh rated capacity for the 15 Pro 5G, and lists charging up to 80W. Smartprix lists the iPhone 17 battery at 3692mAh. Capacity figures are not a head-to-head endurance test: actual runtime depends on factors such as display use, signal conditions, software and workload. The cited sources do not provide a matched test establishing which model lasts longer for the same user.

The spec listings describe different camera approaches: Smartprix lists a 48MP main and 48MP ultrawide camera for iPhone 17, while realme advertises three 50MP cameras, including a Sony IMX896 main sensor. realme also advertises 4K 60fps video recording across its lenses. Megapixel counts and advertised recording modes do not by themselves show which phone takes better photos or video. No independent head-to-head camera test is established by the cited sources, so choose based on the camera features you need rather than the headline megapixel figures alone.

Performance, software and storage
Smartprix lists Apple’s A19 chip and iOS for iPhone 17. realme’s India launch announcement identifies the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while its product page says the phone is based on Android 15. These platforms differ, and the available sources do not establish a matched benchmark comparison. Consider which operating system and ecosystem you want to use; do not treat the chip names alone as a direct performance verdict.
Storage configuration also affects the value comparison. PhoneArena lists US launch prices of $799 for the 256GB iPhone 17 and $999 for the 512GB model; those are 2025 launch prices, not current offers. A separate Smartprix India listing dated September 14, 2026 pairs an iPhone 17 price of ₹82,900 with a realme 15 Pro 12GB/512GB listing at ₹35,249. Because the comparison’s storage configuration and seller details can differ, verify the exact variant rather than comparing prices as if they were for identical configurations.

India price difference: treat snapshots as dated listings
In Smartprix’s comparison updated October 1, 2026, the listed prices were ₹99,900 for iPhone 17 and ₹34,799 for realme 15 Pro 5G, a difference of ₹65,101 in that snapshot. Smartprix’s separate September 14, 2026 listing instead showed ₹82,900 for iPhone 17 and ₹35,249 for a realme 15 Pro 12GB/512GB variant. These are third-party marketplace comparison figures, not prices published by Apple or realme, and neither snapshot guarantees today’s checkout price.
