The India-market OPPO Reno16 5G has a larger 6.32-inch display with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate, a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera and 80W charging. Apple’s iPhone 15 is smaller, has a 6.1-inch OLED display and pairs a 48MP main camera with an ultra-wide camera and a sensor-enabled 2x telephoto option. The hardware specifications show different strengths, but they do not establish which phone takes better photos or performs faster in everyday use.
A current India price gap cannot be stated reliably from the available official figures: OPPO publishes dated prices for the Reno16, while Apple’s iPhone 15 specifications page does not give a current retail price. The Reno16 figures below apply specifically to the India CPH2865 model.

OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, or ₹72,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. OPPO says these tax-inclusive India prices were correct as of 31 August 2026 and are subject to change. The same page shows listed prices before discount of ₹89,999 and ₹99,999 respectively; those are not the stated current prices.

Apple’s cited iPhone 15 technical page lists storage options but no current retail price. That means a current iPhone-versus-Reno16 price gap is not established here. To calculate one fairly, compare live prices in India for the same condition and a comparable storage tier, and check the seller, stock and exact model. Comparing a new OPPO price with a used iPhone, or a sale price in one market with a dated list price in another, would not answer the question accurately.
Which display is better for your use?
The Reno16’s listed display is larger at 6.32 inches and supports a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 15 has a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display. Both manufacturers list 460 ppi, so the Reno16’s larger panel does not mean it has a higher stated pixel density.
Brightness figures need care: Apple lists typical maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, HDR peak brightness of 1,600 nits and outdoor peak brightness of 2,000 nits. OPPO gives 1,800 nits as typical HBM brightness. These labels describe different measurements, and the manufacturers do not provide a common test method here; the figures should not be treated as a direct brightness ranking.

How do the camera systems differ?
Rear cameras and zoom
The iPhone 15 combines a 48MP main camera with a 12MP ultra-wide camera offering a 120-degree field of view. Apple also describes a 2x telephoto option enabled by the quad-pixel sensor. Its specifications list 2x optical zoom in and out, a 4x optical zoom range and up to 10x digital zoom.
The Reno16 lists three 50MP rear cameras: a wide camera with 2-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), a 116-degree ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera with 2-axis OIS and 3.5x optical zoom, extending to 18x digital zoom. Its dedicated telephoto hardware gives it a different listed focal-length option from the iPhone’s sensor-enabled 2x mode.
Front cameras and image quality
OPPO specifies a 50MP autofocus front camera; Apple lists a 12MP front camera. Megapixel counts and the number of lenses do not prove that one phone produces better photos. No head-to-head image-quality test is established by these specifications, so choose based on the focal lengths and camera features you expect to use rather than treating the counts as a quality verdict.

Performance, battery and charging
Processors
Apple specifies the A16 Bionic with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. OPPO specifies a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with an 8-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU. Core counts alone do not show which phone is faster: a fair speed ranking would require comparable benchmarks or controlled testing, neither of which is established here.

Battery figures are not a direct comparison
OPPO lists the Reno16 battery as 6700mAh typical and 6490mAh rated. Apple does not give a battery-capacity figure on the cited specifications page; instead, it estimates “Video playback: Up to 20 hours” and streamed video playback of up to 16 hours. Apple says its battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors, and actual results vary. Capacity and playback hours are different measures, so they cannot be used to declare a battery-life winner.
Wired and wireless charging
OPPO specifies up to 80W SUPERVOOC charging and lists compatibility with certain lower-wattage SUPERVOOC, PPS, PD and QC charging. Confirm that the charger you intend to use is compatible, and check the exact regional package before buying an accessory.

Apple lists MagSafe wireless charging up to 15W and Qi charging up to 7.5W. For its fast-charge claim, Apple says an adapter of 20W or higher can charge the iPhone 15 to up to 50% in around 30 minutes under Apple’s test conditions; the adapter is sold separately. This is a manufacturer test claim, not a guarantee of the same result in every use.

Apple lists the iPhone 15 at 171g and 7.80mm deep. OPPO lists the Reno16 at 182–193g and 8.22–8.36mm thick depending on color, so its weight and thickness are not a single fixed figure across the listed colors.

Apple specifies IP68, with a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC standard 60529. OPPO’s India page lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. These ratings involve different classifications and test conditions; none should be read as a promise that a phone is damage-proof or safe in every water exposure.
Which should you choose?
Consider the Reno16 if these specifications match your priorities
- You want a larger listed screen and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate.
- You value a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera and three listed 50MP rear cameras.
- You prioritize the stated 80W SUPERVOOC wired-charging capability.
- You are shopping in India and the dated OPPO prices fit your budget, after verifying the current offer and the exact 8GB or 12GB configuration.
Consider the iPhone 15 if these specifications match your priorities
- You prefer the iOS platform or already value its fit with your other devices and services.
- You want a smaller, lighter phone by the listed dimensions and weight.
- You want the option of 128GB or 512GB storage, which is not among the India Reno16 configurations described here.
- You value MagSafe or Qi wireless charging and Apple’s stated video-playback estimates.
For either phone, a meaningful decision on camera quality, sustained speed or real-world battery runtime needs comparable hands-on testing. Software-support end dates are not established by the cited specifications, so they should not be inferred from this comparison.
Check the exact model and market before buying
This comparison’s Reno16 price and detailed specifications are for the India CPH2865. OPPO cautions that Reno16 models sold in other countries can have different specifications and prices. Confirm the model number, market, storage, color and box contents on the seller’s listing. OPPO says the India box includes a charger and protective case, while its global page cautions that box contents may vary by market; Apple’s 20W-or-higher adapter for the cited fast-charge claim is sold separately.
