Which screen fits your everyday use?
iPhone 15 Pro: one familiar phone display
The iPhone’s 6.1-inch OLED screen is the only display to use, whether you are checking messages, browsing, or watching video. Its listed weight is 187 g. It suits someone who wants a conventional smartphone shape rather than a device that unfolds into a larger viewing area.

Closed, the Fold8 uses a 5.5-inch cover screen; open, it provides a 7.6-inch main display. The larger screen can give more room for viewing or work, while the phone’s 201 g listed weight is 14 g above the iPhone’s. Whether that trade-off is worthwhile depends on how often you would use the unfolded screen and how you prefer a phone to feel in hand or pocket.

What the camera specifications do—and do not—show
Apple lists a 48MP main camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for the iPhone 15 Pro. Samsung highlights two 50MP rear cameras on the Fold8 and advertises up to 10x digital zoom. These descriptions are not a like-for-like measure of photo quality: megapixel counts and digital zoom figures alone cannot establish which phone takes better pictures. No matched independent camera test is established here.
Storage and current US listed prices
Samsung’s US product page listed the following Fold8 prices on October 7, 2026. They are Samsung-listed prices observed on that date, not a guarantee of future pricing. The page also presents financing and promotional trade-in language; conditional offers can change the amount a buyer pays.

| Storage | Galaxy Z Fold8 US listed price | iPhone 15 Pro price |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB | $1,899.99 | Not established by the cited Apple specifications page |

Apple’s cited page provides specifications, not a current retailer price, and no comparable current iPhone 15 Pro listing is established here. A meaningful price comparison requires the same country, storage capacity, date, and seller terms, and it must identify whether the iPhone is new, refurbished, or used. Do not infer a current price difference from an old launch price or an unspecified marketplace offer.
Battery, durability and purchase checks
Battery capacity is not runtime
Samsung lists the Fold8 battery at 4,800 mAh. That capacity figure is not an endurance test, and no directly comparable iPhone battery-capacity figure or matched runtime result is established here. It cannot show which phone lasts longer between charges.

Check condition, support and protection before buying
- The iPhone 15 Pro is a 2023 model. For a purchase today, verify the specific phone’s condition and check current software-support information rather than assuming availability or support from the model’s age alone.
- Apple lists the iPhone 15 Pro as IP68 under IEC 60529, up to 6m for 30 minutes. The Samsung material cited here does not establish an equivalent Fold8 rating, so the two should not be treated as having matching water or dust protection.
- For either model, confirm storage, seller, device condition, unlocked status, and the terms of any promotion before comparing the amount due.
Which one makes more sense?
- Choose based on the form factor first: the iPhone 15 Pro has a single conventional 6.1-inch screen, while the Fold8 offers a smaller cover display and a larger screen when unfolded.
- Compare the camera systems by the features you need, but do not treat resolution or zoom labels as proof of image-quality superiority.
- For cost, Samsung’s dated US Fold8 list prices are available above; an exact price comparison with the iPhone requires a current, like-for-like seller listing.
