The price figures available here do not establish a current price difference: Samsung’s US listing is current to October 7, 2026, while Apple’s $1,199 figure was the iPhone’s US launch price in 2023.

Which display and size suit you?
Samsung lists the S25 Ultra’s display as 6.9 inches when measured as a full rectangle; its UK specification accounts for the rounded corners and gives 6.8 inches. It lists 3120 × 1440 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. Apple lists a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display at 2796 × 1290, 460 pixels per inch, with adaptive ProMotion refresh rates up to 120Hz.

On the listed body measurements, the Samsung is taller and wider: 162.8 × 77.6 × 8.2mm versus Apple’s 159.9 × 76.7 × 8.25mm. Yet Samsung lists it at 218g, three grams lighter than the iPhone’s 221g. These are manufacturer specifications, and the Samsung dimensions and weight cited are from its India page. A larger diagonal or higher resolution does not by itself prove better brightness, color, readability or overall image quality.
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
How do the camera systems compare?
Zoom and focal-length options
Apple lists a 48MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, a 12MP 2x telephoto option enabled by the quad-pixel sensor, and a 12MP 5x telephoto using a tetraprism design. Its stated optical zoom is 5x in and a 10x optical zoom range; digital zoom is listed up to 25x.
Samsung lists a 200MP, 50MP, 50MP and 10MP rear camera array. Its specifications include 3x and 5x optical zoom, “optical quality” zoom at 2x and 10x, and digital zoom up to 100x. The zoom labels describe different manufacturer-defined modes; they do not establish which phone produces better images. Megapixel counts alone are not a sound basis for choosing a camera.

Video formats
Apple lists Dolby Vision HDR recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second and ProRes recording up to 4K at 60fps with external recording. Samsung lists UHD 8K video at 30fps. Choose based on the formats and workflows you expect to use; these specifications are not a head-to-head video quality test.
What do the processor and software specifications tell you?
Apple lists the A17 Pro with a six-core CPU, six-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. Samsung’s India specification lists Android and an octa-core processor with CPU speeds up to 4.47GHz and 3.5GHz. Clock speeds and core counts are not directly comparable measures of performance, and no comparable benchmark results are established here.

The practical distinction is the platform and features you want: the iPhone runs iOS, while the S25 Ultra runs Android and supports the S Pen. If you rely on apps, services or accessories tied to one platform—or want stylus input—that preference may matter more than a spec-sheet comparison. The cited specifications do not establish update policies for every regional model or how easy a particular user’s migration will be.
How should you interpret battery and charging claims?
Apple lists up to 29 hours of video playback and up to 25 hours of streamed video playback for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Samsung lists a 5000mAh typical battery capacity and up to 31 hours of video playback for the S25 Ultra. Apple cautions that its battery results depend on network configuration and other factors and that actual results vary. Because the manufacturers’ methods differ, the two-hour gap is not a controlled head-to-head result and does not predict how long either phone will last for your use.

Both phones use USB-C, but their documented data and charging features differ. Apple lists USB 3 transfer up to 10Gb/s with a USB 3 cable, DisplayPort support, and charging to around 50% in around 30 minutes with a 20W-or-higher adapter. Apple says the adapter is sold separately. Samsung’s US purchase page says the S25 Ultra package does not include a charger. Check the package and compatible accessories for the exact market and configuration before buying.

What is the price difference?
There is no defensible current price difference from the available figures because they use different dates and price bases. Samsung’s US unlocked listing, accessed October 7, 2026, showed these prices before tax and shipping; promotions and trade-in offers can change:

| iPhone 15 Pro Max, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB | $1,199 starting price | Apple’s US launch announcement in September 2023; historical MSRP, not a current offer |
The $1,199 figure was Apple’s launch starting price for the 2023 iPhone, not a current price quote. Apple’s launch announcement listed 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities. The S25 Ultra’s $1,299.99 256GB listing is $100.99 above that historical launch figure, but that arithmetic is not a current price difference. The sources do not establish today’s new, refurbished or used iPhone price. For a meaningful comparison, check offers in the same country for the same storage and condition on the same date.
