The iPhone 14 Pro is a 6.1-inch conventional smartphone introduced in 2022; Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a 2026 foldable with a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch inner display. The key choice is whether you want a familiar, compact single-screen phone or a much larger screen that unfolds for reading, video and multitasking. A precise current price gap cannot be established from the available figures: the Fold’s documented U.S. figure is its reported launch price, while the iPhone figure is an older India launch price, not a current resale quote.

How the displays compare
iPhone 14 Pro: one smaller display
Apple specifies a 6.1-inch OLED display with 2556 × 1179 resolution, 460 pixels per inch and ProMotion refresh rates up to 120 Hz. Its conventional shape keeps the phone a single-screen device; there is no second, larger screen to unfold.

Samsung lists a 6.5-inch, 2520 × 1080 cover display and an 8.0-inch, 2504 × 2256 inner display, both with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The cover screen serves when the phone is folded; opening it provides a larger canvas for activities such as reading, watching video and using apps side by side.
#1 Best Overall
- Super Magnetic Attraction: Powerful built-in magnets, easier place-and-go wireless charging and compatible with MagSafe
- Compatibility: Only compatible with iPhone 14 Pro; precise cutouts for easy access to all ports, buttons, sensors and cameras, soft and sensitive buttons with good response, are easy to press
- Matte Translucent Back: Features a flexible TPU frame and a matte coating on the hard PC back to provide you with a premium touch and excellent grip, while the entire matte back coating perfectly blocks smudges, fingerprints and even scratches
- Shock Protection: Passing military drop tests up to 10 feet, your device is effectively protected from violent impacts and drops
- Check your phone model: Before you order, please confirm your phone model to find out which product is right for you
Diagonal size alone does not tell you how much usable space a display offers: the Fold’s two screens have different aspect ratios, and its inner screen is the one that delivers the larger unfolded workspace. If that experience matters, try the folded and unfolded device in person before deciding whether its size and hinge suit your routine.
Camera hardware: specifications, not a quality verdict
The iPhone 14 Pro has a 48MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 12MP telephoto options at 2x and 3x. TechRadar reports that the Fold8 Ultra has a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP 3x optical telephoto camera.

Performance and software generation
The iPhone 14 Pro uses Apple’s A16 Bionic and was introduced in 2022. The Fold8 Ultra is a 2026 model; TechRadar reports a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and Android 17 / One UI 9. These are different generations and platforms. Without matched benchmarks and a defined workload, the specifications do not establish a performance winner.

Price difference: what the available figures can and cannot show
TechRadar reported a U.S. starting price of $2,099.99 for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra in 2026, with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB configurations listed in its review. Treat $2,099.99 as reported launch pricing, not a verified current sale price.
Apple announced an iPhone 14 Pro launch price of INR 129,900 in India in 2022. That historical India price is not comparable to a 2026 U.S. launch price or a current U.S. used-phone listing. A matched current price difference has not been established.

Which one fits your needs?
- Choose the iPhone 14 Pro if you want a conventional single-screen phone and are considering a current used or refurbished listing. Check its storage, condition, battery health, warranty and carrier-lock status rather than relying on its historical launch price.
- Consider the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if you expect to make frequent use of a large unfolded display for reading, video or multitasking and value having a cover screen when folded.
- Inspect the Fold in person if possible. Its folding screen and mechanical hinge are central to the experience. TechRadar reports that the Fold8 Ultra lacks S Pen digitizer support, which matters if pen input is a requirement.
- Do not choose from camera megapixels or an unqualified price gap alone. The listed figures do not establish comparative photo quality, and the cited prices refer to different years, countries and purchase contexts.
