YouTube Music playback without signing in is marked beta, however, and the project warns that network checks or regional availability can prevent it from working.
What KuruBeats does
KuruBeats is an Android app, not a music catalog or a music service of its own. It brings a device’s local audio library and YouTube Music access together in one player, according to the developer’s September 28, 2026 announcement.

The README lists local-song playback, EBU R128 loudness normalization, tempo, pitch and speed controls, crossfade, and integration with the system equalizer and spatial-audio features. The sources do not specify supported audio formats or provide comparative sound-quality tests.

Lyrics, recognition and listening history
Listed features include live synced lyrics with translation and romanization, music recognition, and listening statistics. The README also describes Last.fm scrobbling, ListenBrainz history sync and Discord rich presence.
Online music and account integrations
The project describes YouTube Music playback, multiple-account support, YouTube Music account integration and Spotify playlist import. Its announcement emphasizes anonymous streaming, while the README also documents signed-in features. These are different usage modes: the anonymous-playback claim does not mean every account-related feature works without signing in.

The README also lists ad-free background listening and Material 3 styling with interface customization. The project’s feature descriptions do not establish a playback success rate, supported-device count or other independently measured result.
Can you use YouTube Music without an account?
The developer advertises anonymous YouTube Music playback, but labels it beta. The September 28 announcement warns that YouTube bot checks can block playback on some networks and may result in error 2000. That means anonymous access should be treated as experimental rather than dependable in every network environment.

The README adds a regional caveat: in locations where YouTube Music is unsupported, a VPN or proxy set to a supported region may be needed for initial data fetching. The project does not establish that this will make playback work reliably in every location or network.
