The iPhone 13 is the better fit if you want a smaller iOS phone; the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is the larger-screen Android option with a higher listed refresh rate and substantially larger stated battery capacity in some regional configurations. There is no reliable universal price difference: Motorola’s specifications and pricing vary by market, and its Japan store’s announced price is not comparable to an unspecified local iPhone 13 listing.

Which screen and size suit you?
Choose the iPhone for a compact phone
At 174 g and 146.7 mm tall, the iPhone 13 is markedly smaller and lighter than the Japan-listed Edge 70 Fusion. Its 6.1-inch OLED display is the more manageable option if one-handed handling, a smaller pocket footprint or a less bulky device matters most.

Choose the Motorola for a larger, faster-refresh display
Motorola Japan lists a roughly 6.78-inch display with up to 144Hz refresh rate. That gives the Edge 70 Fusion more screen area and a higher stated refresh ceiling than the iPhone 13’s 6.1-inch display. These specifications establish size and refresh-rate differences, not which panel looks better in person.
How do performance and software compare?
Apple specifies the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chip. Motorola’s Edge 70 Fusion processor is not consistent across the company’s regional materials: India lists Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the global announcement and Japan store list Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Check the exact model sold in your country rather than assuming all Edge 70 Fusion phones share one chipset. The available official specifications do not provide a like-for-like benchmark, so they are not enough to declare a performance winner.

The iPhone 13 runs iOS, while Motorola India lists Android 16 for its Edge 70 Fusion configuration. Apple’s cited specifications page does not establish the iPhone’s currently installed iOS version or a future support end date, and the cited Motorola material does not establish a complete future update schedule. If update longevity is central to your decision, verify the current support commitments for the exact market and model before buying.
What do the camera and video specifications show?
The iPhone 13 has two 12MP rear cameras: a main camera with sensor-shift optical stabilization and an ultrawide. Apple lists rear recording up to 4K/60 fps with Dolby Vision HDR, plus Cinematic mode at 1080p/30 fps.

- Cinematic mode in 1080p at 30 fps. Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 60 fps. 2X Optical zoom range
- A15 Bionic chip. New 6-core CPU with 2 performance and 4 efficiency cores. New 4-core GPU. New 16-core Neural Engine
- Up to 19 hours video playback. Face ID. Ceramic Shield front. Aerospace-grade aluminum
Motorola Japan lists a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide with macro capability and a 32MP front camera. Its listing specifies 4K/30 fps recording on both rear and front cameras. Motorola’s global announcement gives the ultrawide a 122° field of view, whereas Japan lists 120°—another detail that can depend on regional listing or configuration.

How should you compare battery life and durability?
Battery figures are not directly comparable
Apple’s stated figure is up to 19 hours of video playback, with actual iPhone 13 results depending on use and settings. Motorola lists a 7,000mAh battery for India support and Japan, but its global announcement says 5,200mAh and up to 39 hours. These are company-published figures from different regional materials and methods; they do not establish that one phone lasts a particular multiple longer in everyday use. Japan’s listing also specifies 68W TurboPower charging.
Water and dust resistance are not a promise of damage-proof use
Apple rates iPhone 13 IP68 to a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. Motorola’s global release describes Edge 70 Fusion as IP68/IP69, including controlled-laboratory water resistance up to 1.5 metres in still fresh water for up to 30 minutes and protection against high-temperature water jets. Motorola Japan also lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H. These are manufacturer ratings under specified conditions, not claims that either phone is waterproof or indestructible.
Rank #4
- Fully unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US-Cellular, Cricket, Metro, etc.).
- Inspected and guaranteed to have minimal cosmetic damage, which is not noticeable when the device is held at arm's length.
- Successfully passed a full diagnostic test which ensures like-new functionality and removal of any prior-user personal information.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a charging cable that may be generic.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
What is the price difference?
The only concrete official price in the cited materials is Motorola Japan’s ¥79,800 including tax for the 12GB/256GB Edge 70 Fusion, with a scheduled Japanese release date of 2026-10-23. Motorola’s global announcement describes availability in selected countries across Latin America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, and directs readers to local teams for pricing and availability; it does not give a universal price. Apple’s technical specifications page does not establish a current iPhone 13 selling price. Therefore, the evidence does not support a universal price gap or a claim that one is cheaper everywhere.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor a useful local comparison, check both phones on the same date and in the same country. Match storage capacity where possible, and compare new with new or used with used; also account for carrier locks, warranty, seller and included accessories. Motorola Japan says the AC adapter and USB cable are not included in its package, so check the local box contents before treating prices as directly equivalent.

- Cinematic mode in 1080p at 30 fps. Dolby Vision HDR video recording up to 4K at 60 fps. 2X Optical zoom range

Which phone should you buy?
- Pick the iPhone 13 if you prefer iOS and value a smaller, lighter body. Its published camera-video specifications include Dolby Vision HDR recording up to 4K/60 fps.
- Pick the Edge 70 Fusion if you want Android, a larger display and a higher listed refresh rate. Confirm the local chipset, battery and other specifications because Motorola’s regional pages disagree.
- Let the local deal decide if neither platform or size is decisive. Compare the same storage, condition and market, and verify current stock and price with the seller; the Japan Motorola price is not a worldwide benchmark.
