As of October 4, 2026, PC VR is the version you can play now; the PS VR2 version is scheduled for October 8 at 14:00 UTC. Choose PC if you have a compatible computer or want the currently listed four-player co-op. Choose PS VR2 if you own a PS5 and the headset and value its listed eye-tracked rendering, trigger effects, headset and controller haptics, and 3D Audio. The PS VR2 release has not happened yet, so its final performance and multiplayer availability cannot be compared with a released build.
How the versions compare
| Decision factor | PC VR (Steam) | PS VR2 (PS5) |
|---|---|---|
| Availability on October 4, 2026 | Released April 23, 2026. | PlayStation Store lists October 8, 2026 at 14:00 UTC; not yet released as of October 4. |
| What you need | A compatible PC and VR setup. Steam requires OpenXR. | PS5, PS VR2 headset, and PS VR2 Sense controllers. |
| Co-op listed | Online co-op for up to four players. | PlayStation Store currently lists one player. A developer announcement described two-player co-op as a planned free Q4 2026 update. |
| Platform-specific features | Depends on the compatible headset and configuration; Steam does not require one particular PC headset. | Eye-tracked foveated rendering, custom headset and controller haptics, adaptive trigger effects, and 3D Audio are listed or announced. |
Sources: Steam listing, PlayStation Store listing, and PlayStation Blog announcement. The older August announcement named September 24 as the PS VR2 date; for current timing, the Store listing gives October 8 at 14:00 UTC.

Choose PC VR if you want to play now or play with a group
Steam lists Into the Radius 2 as released on April 23, 2026, and describes online co-op with up to three friends. That makes PC the straightforward choice if you want to start before the PS VR2 release or if four-player co-op is important to your group.

Check your computer and VR equipment against Steam’s requirements before buying. Its listed minimum is a 64-bit system with an Intel i5-7600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, and Nvidia RTX 2060. Its recommended specification is an Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700, 16 GB RAM, and Nvidia RTX 3080. These are the store’s hardware specifications, not a guarantee of performance on every setup.
#1 Best Overall
- PlayStation VR2 Sense technology: Eye tracking. Headset feedback. 3D Audio. Highly intuitive controls – Haptic Feedback, Adaptive Triggers and Finger Touch Detection
- Cutting-edge performance
- 4K HDR visuals
- 110º field of view
- Advanced graphical rendering
- OpenXR is required.
- HTC Vive Wands and Windows Mixed Reality devices are listed as unsupported.
- Steam recommends 72 Hz minimum and 90 Hz recommended; those are recommendations, not measured frame rates for your system.
See the Steam store listing for the complete requirements and supported-device information.
Choose PS VR2 if you own the PS5 headset setup and want its listed features
The PS5 edition requires both a PS VR2 headset and PS VR2 Sense controllers. Its PlayStation Store listing names eye-tracked foveated rendering, 3D Audio, custom haptics for the headset and controllers, and trigger effects. It also lists sitting and standing play styles. These are platform features, not evidence that the PS5 version has better image quality or runs better than PC VR.
Rank #2

Game director Aleksei Shulga announced native 90 FPS for the PS VR2 version, along with its headset and controller features. Treat that as the developer’s announced target, not an independently measured result: the edition is still upcoming on October 4, 2026. The Store listing’s release details are at the PlayStation Store; the dated feature announcement is on the PlayStation Blog.
Check co-op again after the PS VR2 launch
The multiplayer information is not aligned yet: Steam lists online co-op for up to four players, while the PS5 Store listing says one player. The August developer announcement planned a free update with two-player co-op in Q4 2026, but that is a dated plan rather than confirmation that the mode is available at launch. If PS VR2 co-op will determine your purchase, check the current Store listing or official game information after release. No cross-play support is established by these listings.
Do not confuse PS VR2 on PS5 with PS VR2 on PC
This comparison is between the PS5 game and the Steam PC VR game. Sony documents PC use of the PS VR2 headset as a configuration distinct from using it on PS5; do not assume that PS5-specific game features are available when the headset is used with a PC. See PlayStation’s PS VR2 PC support information.
Quick Recap
Which version should you play?
- Pick PC VR if you have hardware that meets the game’s requirements, want to play immediately, or need the currently listed four-player co-op.
- Pick PS VR2 if you already have a PS5, PS VR2, and Sense controllers, and prefer a console setup with the listed eye-tracked rendering and headset-specific controls and audio.
- Wait for the PS VR2 release details if your choice depends on its actual performance or co-op player count; those cannot be settled from a version that has not launched as of October 4, 2026.
