On June 25, 2026, zerohash said its service launched with Ethereum support and quoted IBKR CEO Milan Galik saying the brokerage looked forward to offering staking “in the near future.”
What zerohash announced—and what it means for IBKR
zerohash announced a Staking-as-a-Service platform for brokerages, banks, and fintech companies, delivered through a single API integration. It named Interactive Brokers, Public, and BitMart as initial launch partners. Ethereum (ETH) was supported at the infrastructure launch; Solana staking was described as coming soon. These are capabilities and partnerships for zerohash’s service, not proof that each partner had already enabled staking for customers.

IBKR CEO Milan Galik said: “Staking gives investors an additional way to earn yield on digital assets and we look forward to offering this alongside the broad range of products and markets available through the Interactive Brokers platform in the near future.” The wording indicates a planned offering, not a confirmed client launch date. zerohash’s June 25 announcement does not state when IBKR customers will be able to use it.

The available official information does not establish that IBKR staking is live. Interactive Brokers’ crypto product page lists Ethereum as a supported asset for crypto trading, but listing ETH for trading is not the same as offering ETH staking. The page does not confirm staking availability, an activation date, or customer-specific staking terms.

IBKR announced crypto additions and stablecoin transfers in July 2026, but that announcement concerns those features—not Ethereum staking. Its wording also says product availability varies by affiliate and residence. The July announcement should not be read as confirmation that staking has launched.
Eligibility depends on location and account
zerohash said its staking service was available across the United States except California, Maryland, New Jersey, and Wisconsin. That is a statement about zerohash’s service availability, not a complete guarantee of IBKR customer eligibility. Interactive Brokers says crypto product availability varies by account type and residence, and its July 2026 expansion announcement similarly notes variation by affiliate and residence.

IBKR’s March 2026 announcement about crypto trading in the European Economic Area described 11 assets offered through zerohash to eligible individual investors, with availability varying by country and affiliate. That announcement concerns trading, not staking, so it does not establish EEA staking eligibility. IBKR’s EEA announcement is relevant only as a reminder that access to one crypto service does not establish access to another.

Rates, fees, and lock-up periods are not established for IBKR
A zerohash staking agreement says reward rates are estimates, can change, and are not guaranteed. Applicable supported assets, lock-up periods, reward shares, and service fees are disclosed within the platform. The agreement also describes service and network fee deductions before the customer’s reward share is calculated. It does not establish a current IBKR-specific reward rate, fee, reward share, or lock-up period. The surfaced staking agreement provides general terms, not settled values for a live IBKR offer.

Interactive Brokers lists crypto trading commissions of 0.12% to 0.18% of trade value, with a USD 1.75 minimum per order and a cap of 1% of trade value. Those figures apply to crypto trades; they are not staking charges and should not be used to estimate the cost of staking ETH. IBKR’s crypto product page presents the trading commission schedule.

When IBKR confirms customer availability, check the terms shown for your own account rather than assuming the zerohash infrastructure announcement supplies them. The details that determine whether the service fits a particular investor include:

- Whether staking is enabled for the account, affiliate, and place of residence.
- Which assets are eligible and whether ETH is available for staking, not just trading.
- How rewards are calculated, how often they are credited, and whether the stated rate can change.
- Any service or network fees and the portion of rewards retained by the platform.
- Whether assets are subject to a lock-up and how long unstaking or withdrawal takes.
The announcement’s broader market context is also attributed rather than independently established: zerohash cited a 2025 PwC survey saying 27% of retail crypto investors actively pursued staking as a core investment-strategy pillar, compared with 31% for automated savings plans. That statistic is reported by zerohash; it should not be treated as a separately verified finding here.
