To install Google Chrome on a Windows 11 PC, download the installer from Google’s official Chrome download page, open the downloaded file, and follow the prompts. If the PC cannot download it, Google also documents an offline method using another computer.
Check whether your Windows 11 PC meets Chrome’s requirements
Google lists different minimum requirements depending on the processor. Its current guidance says Intel PCs need Windows 10 or later and an Intel Pentium 4 or later that supports SSE3. For ARM processors, Google lists Windows 11 or later. These are Google’s stated requirements; check the processor type if you are unsure which applies to your PC.

- On the Windows 11 PC, open Google’s official Chrome download page and download the installer.
- Open the downloaded installation file. If Windows asks whether to run it, choose Run. If Windows asks whether to allow the app to make changes, choose Yes.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions. When installation finishes, open Chrome.
If the PC cannot download the installer
Use Google’s offline installation route when the target PC has download trouble:

- On another computer, open Google’s Chrome offline installer instructions.
- Under Chrome family, select the target operating system; under Other platforms, choose the applicable download.
- Download the installer, then move the file to the Windows 11 PC. A USB flash drive is one possible transfer method, but Google does not require a particular one.
- Open the transferred file on the target PC and follow the installation instructions.
Make Chrome the default browser in Windows 11
Installing Chrome does not automatically make it the default browser. To change that setting, open Start > Settings > Apps > Default apps, search for Chrome, select Google Chrome, and choose Set default. Review the file and link type defaults to confirm the change. With Chrome set as the default, links open in Chrome; you can change the default browser later.
