A small family business in Delhi, Louisiana, is converting rural rental stock into furnished housing for the construction crews building Meta’s expanded data center in Richland Parish. Parish Line Properties, run by Angel and Bryan Crawford, operates Antley Pines, a mobile home park about 15 minutes from the site, according to a September 28, 2026 profile of the business. The demand it serves is largely temporary: the people renting these homes are mostly construction workers whose assignments may end when the building work does, and most of what is known about the housing comes from the operator’s own account.
Start with the project numbers, and keep the phases apart
Meta’s July 2026 update says the Richland Parish site will reach 5 GW of planned compute capacity, with more than $50 billion in regional investment. The same update gives two different job figures that belong to different stages of the project: over 7,500 jobs at peak construction, and 1,000 operational jobs once the facility is complete (Meta Data Centers, July 2026). Louisiana Economic Development’s release from the same day independently describes the investment as more than $50 billion (Louisiana Economic Development, July 13, 2026).

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Planned compute capacity | 5 GW | Full expansion of the Richland Parish site | Meta, July 2026 | Company plan |
| Regional investment | More than $50 billion | Richland Parish region | Meta; Louisiana Economic Development, July 13, 2026 | Company commitment; the state release repeats the figure |
| Construction jobs | Over 7,500 at peak | Temporary construction phase | Meta, July 2026 | Projection; the update does not tie the peak to a date |
| Operational jobs | 1,000 | After completion | Meta, July 2026 | Projection |
| Training support | $5 million | Scholarships at Louisiana Delta Community College for data-center-related training | Meta, July 2026 | Company commitment |
| Local homes operated | 18, of which 14 are workforce housing | Parish Line Properties’ local portfolio | Angel Crawford, as reported September 28, 2026 | Operator’s account; not independently verified |
| Average rent | About $3,000 a month including utilities | Furnished four-bedroom, two-bath homes | Angel Crawford, as reported September 28, 2026 | Operator’s average; not parish-wide market data |
The construction figure is the one most likely to be misread. A peak construction workforce is a temporary group of contractors and tradespeople. It is not Meta’s permanent staff, and the 1,000 operational roles are a separate, later phase.

Where the housing is
Parish Line Properties was founded in 2024 by Angel Crawford of Delhi and her husband Bryan. According to the profile, the couple opened Antley Pines in December 2025. The site lies near Holly Ridge, and the article describes Antley Pines as roughly 15 minutes away. Crawford says the park’s homes sit on one-fourth of an acre each.
The profile is the main public account of this business, and it is reproduced by The New York Ledger, which credits the reporting to Business Insider. Treat the property count, the workforce classification, and the deposit history as the operator’s account.
Who is renting, and why they want to be close
Long days and rural travel times
Angel Crawford’s explanation for why proximity matters is direct: “Location is very important to Meta’s workers because they work six to seven days a week and 12-plus hours a day.” She says workers typically leave around 4:30 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. That schedule is hers, not a company-wide work schedule.
Distance costs more on rural roads than the mileage suggests. The profile notes that 30 miles on country roads can take much longer than the same distance in a city. For a crew on a 4:30 a.m. start, a short drive on the map can still mean a large share of a shift lost to travel, which is why a few minutes saved matters more than it would in town.

- Authentic, Real-World Construction Experience: The Pitsco True Scale House Framing Kit delivers a realistic construction model rather than simple assembly play. Students build a true 1:16 scale house model using 485 precision-cut balsa wood pieces, following professional-style house plans and construction methods aligned to real building practices. This architectural framing kit helps learners understand stud framing, scale lumber, and structural design in a way traditional model kits cannot.
- Blueprint Reading & Skill-Building: Designed as a hands-on architecture lesson for ages 14+, this model house framing kit guides students through a structured learning progression. Learners begin by interpreting blueprints, measuring to scale, and understanding architectural drawings before cutting, framing, and assembling the structure. The challenge builds accuracy, focus, and confidence, making it ideal for homeschooling, high school engineering projects, and blueprint reading practice tools.
- Choice-Based Design & Structural Comparison: Unlike most balsa wood house kits, this architectural model making supply allows students to choose between two realistic roof systems: truss or hip. Comparing a truss building kit to a hip roof framing model gives learners firsthand experience with real-world structural approaches used in residential construction, reinforcing problem-solving, interpretation, and decision-making while maintaining authentic construction standards.
- Classroom-Ready & Collaborative by Design: This classroom building kit is designed for individual or paired work, supporting collaboration and communication as students divide tasks, measure materials, and assemble the wooden house frame model together. Instructions are student-facing, with minimal teacher prep required beyond gathering shared tools. Projects can be stored safely during multi-week builds, making it well suited for extended classroom use.
- Career Pathways in Construction & Design: The True Scale House Framing Kit connects hands-on building to real careers in construction, architecture, engineering, drafting, and skilled trades. By applying construction terminology, reading plans, and working with a realistic construction model, students gain exposure to Career and Technical Education (CTE) construction concepts and civil engineering foundations, positioning this as a powerful architecture study kit and vocational training resource.
Lease length and deposits
Crawford says workers often ask about month-to-month leases because they do not know how long their assignments will last. Her description of the tenancy is blunt: “Most of them don’t know how long they’re going to be here. They hope they’re going to be here long-term, but in construction, they don’t get told until it’s done.”
The profile also reports that Antley Pines’ homes were secured by deposits from Meta workers before the units were placed in the park, and that many tenants are subcontractors, including electricians. These are her reported claims and have not been independently checked.
Furnishings and connectivity
The homes are furnished, which is the main reason workers choose them over unfurnished rentals. Connectivity is a recurring concern. A syndicated reproduction of the same story, published by Jingletree, says Crawford hears “What’s the WiFi password?” as tenants move in and that some workers want to video-call family. That version is a secondary reproduction, so treat the wording as attributed to it rather than verified against the original. For an owner or a tenant, the practical point is that a furnished rental is judged partly on whether its internet works on day one.

What the rent figure does and does not show
The profile puts the average rent for the furnished four-bedroom, two-bath homes at roughly $3,000 a month including utilities. Crawford compares that with what an unfurnished house without utilities in the same area might have rented for before the project, which she estimates at $1,200 to $1,500. The comparison is hers, and the two housing types are not the same product.
| Option | Furnished | Utilities | Rent figure | Source and limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antley Pines-type unit (four bedrooms, two baths) | Yes | Included | About $3,000 a month, average | Operator’s average, reported September 28, 2026; not a market survey |
| Unfurnished house in the same area, pre-project | No | Not included | $1,200 to $1,500 a month, estimate | Crawford’s estimate; no date or sample given |
Three limits apply. The $3,000 figure covers one operator’s portfolio, not the parish. The comparison mixes furnishing and utilities with bare rent, so it is not like for like. And the reporting does not provide vacancy, rent-trend, or displacement data for Richland Parish. The article also cites a median household income of about $53,000 for 2024, but the original statistical source was not identified, so that figure should not be cited as an official statistic.
What happens after construction
Crawford says the homes could remain useful after Meta’s construction activity winds down: “Each home in our mobile park is on one-fourth of an acre. After Meta’s gone, we can sell them individually or rent them out,” she said. This is her outlook, not a forecast of future occupancy or prices.
She also says the business will not raise rents for long-term local tenants and will look for separate properties for workforce lodging. That is her stated policy. No audit or independent affordability review is reported.
Local views and the training pipeline
Crawford describes mixed reactions in the community. Some residents see opportunity, while others oppose the project. She also says some local young people who might otherwise have worked offshore are now taking construction jobs closer to home. These are her observations and do not amount to a survey.

Meta’s update describes training work with Louisiana Delta Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, along with the $5 million scholarship commitment. Louisiana Economic Development says the state is one of four pilot locations for America’s Workforce Academy. Training programs show what the company is funding. They do not show how many hires will come from the local housing market.

If you are comparing options for a construction assignment, or deciding whether to rent furnished units to crews, these are the checks that matter:
- Drive time at your real shift hours. Time the route at the hour you will actually leave. Rural distances can take much longer than they look on a map.
- Furnished status and what is included. Confirm which furniture and appliances come with the unit, and whether utilities are inside the rent.
- Bedroom and bathroom count, and who shares. A four-bedroom, two-bath unit can house several workers, so ask about occupancy rules before comparing prices.
- Lease length. Ask whether month-to-month terms are available and what notice is required at the end of an assignment.
- Deposit terms. Find out the deposit amount, when it is due, and the conditions for its return.
- Connectivity. Run a speed test on the unit’s network rather than relying on a listing description, and confirm who supplies the router and the password.
- Rent on a like-for-like basis. Compare only units with the same furnishing, utilities, and bedroom count, and note the date of each quote.
What the evidence does not establish
The housing details come from one operator profile, and the public record does not yet provide independent figures for the local rental market. The reporting does not verify the operator’s property count or rent averages, and it does not establish parish-wide rent growth, vacancy, displacement, affordable-unit counts, or what demand will look like after construction ends. The quotations here are as reproduced by The New York Ledger, which credits Business Insider, so check the original story if exact wording matters. Meta and Louisiana Economic Development are reliable sources for the project’s scale and training commitments, but they do not measure local housing outcomes.
Most readers should treat Parish Line Properties as a window into how one local operator is responding to a temporary construction boom, not as a measure of how the whole parish’s housing market is changing.

Finally, the job figures in the project announcement describe two different things. Construction jobs at peak describe a temporary workforce, while 1,000 operational roles describe a permanent but much smaller workforce. Keep them separate when you read about the housing that follows them.
The house cannot be treated as a sign of permanent local growth, and the rent figure cannot be treated as a parish average.
One practical verdict follows from the reporting. Furnished workforce housing near a construction site responds to a specific, time-limited need, and its value depends on drive time, lease flexibility, and whether the operator keeps its stated commitments to local tenants.
