Infinity Legends (Palladium) is a Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack. To host it, install Java 17, download the versioned CurseForge server pack rather than the client archive, allocate about 8 GB of memory as a practical starting point, and make every player use the identical Minecraft, Forge, modpack, and configuration release. The pack combines quests, RPG progression, boss fights, superpowers, Infinity Stones, Ben 10 and Lantern-themed abilities, and Ad Astra space exploration, so a dedicated server must handle many mods and potentially multiple dimensions.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
The safest workflow is to choose one release, use its matching server files on both sides, launch the supplied Forge script once to generate the world, accept the EULA, and then test locally before opening TCP port 25565 to the internet. The latest project metadata identifies V6.1, uploaded October 9, 2026; the server-pack details publicly documented for this guide are for V5.6 and V5.4 hotfix, so do not assume an older server archive is compatible with a V6.1 client.

What Infinity Legends (Palladium) includes
Infinity Legends (Palladium), created by BrenimDibre, is categorized around RPG play, exploration, combat/PvP, and quests. Its description highlights custom quests, exclusive progression, boss encounters, superpower systems, Infinity Stones, Ben 10 content, Lantern-style abilities, and Ad Astra space travel. Those systems make it more demanding to administer than a small collection of cosmetic mods: world generation, entities, scripted abilities, and extra dimensions can all affect startup time, memory use, and backup size.
CurseForge listed 108,143 project downloads when checked in 2026. Project metadata identifies V6.1 as the latest release, uploaded October 9, 2026. Treat that as the current project version, not proof that every host or server archive already supports it. Always inspect the release files and select a server pack that carries the same version number as the client you intend to run.

Requirements at a glance
| Item | Documented requirement or guidance | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 | The pack is built for this game version; another Minecraft version is not an interchangeable substitute. |
| Mod loader | Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1 | Both the dedicated server and every client need the compatible Forge branch. |
| Java | Java 17 | The pack-specific hosting workflow documents Java 17. Use a 64-bit runtime supplied by your operating system or a trusted JDK/JRE distributor. |
| Memory | About 8 GB recommended by the hosting guide | This is a practical recommendation for the documented workflow, not a universal developer minimum. Actual needs rise with player count, exploration, loaded chunks, and dimensions. |
| Network | TCP port 25565 unless you deliberately choose another port | Remote players need a route through the host firewall and, for home networks, the router. |
| Files | A versioned server pack containing mods, configuration files, and a start script | The client archive is not the correct distribution for a dedicated server. |
Choose a matching release before downloading
Release matching is the most important compatibility rule. Record the exact pack version, Minecraft version, Forge version, and server-pack filename before you install anything. The server files documented for this project include:
| Release | Server file | Reported size | Upload date | Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| V5.6 | serverpack-5.6.zip |
1.3 GB | October 1, 2026 | Use with V5.6 clients and the corresponding Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge configuration. |
| V5.4 hotfix | serverpack-5.4hotfix |
1.4 GB | Not stated in the release details provided | Use only with clients on that exact hotfix release. |
| V6.1 | A matching server archive is not identified in the release details provided | Not stated | October 9, 2026 | Do not pair a V5.x server pack with a V6.1 client. Confirm that CurseForge provides a V6.1 server file first. |
Download the server-pack asset attached to the release, not the regular client export. The server pack is assembled for dedicated-server use and includes the mod JARs, configuration files, and a start script. If the release page offers several similarly named downloads, compare the version number character by character before saving the file.
Prepare the host machine
Install Java 17 and verify it
Install a 64-bit Java 17 runtime on the computer or virtual server that will run Forge. Open a terminal or command prompt and run:
java -version
The output should identify Java 17. If it reports an older release, Forge may fail to start or behave unpredictably. If the command is not found, install Java 17 and reopen the terminal so the updated PATH is loaded. Keep the Java installation separate from the Minecraft client’s launcher settings; the dedicated server uses the runtime visible to its start script.

Choose storage and memory conservatively
The V5.6 server archive alone is reported as 1.3 GB, and V5.4 hotfix is reported as 1.4 GB before extraction. Leave additional free storage for the uncompressed files, logs, generated chunks, player data, backups, and any extra dimensions. A nearly full disk can make a healthy server look like a mod or Forge failure.
The pack-specific hosting guide recommends about 8 GB of RAM. Treat that figure as an operational starting point rather than a guaranteed minimum for every installation. More simultaneous players, fast exploration that generates new terrain, boss encounters, and Ad Astra dimensions can increase both memory pressure and CPU time. If the host swaps to disk, pauses for garbage collection, or cannot keep up with the tick loop, reduce the workload or move to a larger machine instead of immediately deleting mods.

Create a dedicated directory
Use a new folder such as infinity-legends-server with no unrelated Forge worlds inside it. Keeping one release per directory makes rollback possible and prevents an old configuration or mod JAR from being picked up accidentally. Do not extract a new archive over a live world until you have a verified backup.
Install a self-hosted server step by step
- Select one release. Decide whether your group will run V5.6, V5.4 hotfix, or another release for which a matching server pack is available. Write the version in a simple note that you can send to every player.
- Download the server pack. On the selected CurseForge release page, download the asset labeled as the server pack. For V5.6, the documented filename is
serverpack-5.6.zip. Do not substitute the client archive. - Extract it into the dedicated directory. Preserve the folder structure, including the supplied start script, mods directory, and configuration files. Avoid nesting the real files several levels deep inside duplicate folders, because scripts may then resolve paths incorrectly.
- Review the supplied start script. Open it in a text editor and confirm that it calls the Java/Forge installation included or expected by that server pack. Keep the script’s working directory pointed at the server folder. Do not add random JVM flags while diagnosing a first launch; establish a clean baseline first.
- Launch once. Run the script from the server directory. Forge should create or update required files and generate a world. The first launch can take longer while registries and dimensions are prepared.
- Accept the Minecraft EULA. When the server creates
eula.txt, open it, read the terms, and change the acceptance entry only if you agree. Start the script again after saving the file. - Watch the console for a completed startup. Wait for the server to report that it is ready for connections rather than closing the window as soon as world generation begins. Record any crash report, error, or missing-mod message before changing files.
- Join from the host computer first. Use the local address supplied by the server environment. This verifies that Forge, the pack, Java, and the generated world work before networking variables are introduced.
- Stop cleanly and back up. Use the server console’s normal stop command, wait for the save to finish, and copy the world, configuration, and server files to a separate backup location.
- Start the server for your group. Run the same script again, keep the console available, and announce the exact client version and address to players.
Configure internet access for friends
For players outside your home network, allow the server’s TCP port through both layers of network security:
Rank #3
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that is unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world full of surprises.
- SURVIVAL ADVENTURES — Face mysterious foes, travel across varied landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play solo or join friends in local split-screen and cross-platform play across console, mobile, and PC. Online multiplayer supports up to 8 players.
- COMMUNITY PLAY — Connect with players on community servers, or subscribe to Realms Plus (sold separately) to play with up to 10 friends on a private server.
- Permit the chosen port in the operating-system firewall on the host.
- Forward that same TCP port from the router to the host machine’s local IP address.
- Keep the host’s local IP stable, for example with a router DHCP reservation, so the forwarding rule does not silently point to another device.
- Give friends the public address and port. The documented default is TCP 25565; if you choose another port, include it explicitly.
- Test from a network outside your home, such as a mobile connection. A test from inside the same LAN can succeed even when the internet-facing rule is wrong.
Do not expose unrelated services while troubleshooting. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary port forwarding may not work; in that case, use a managed host or a private networking solution that your group understands.
Make every client match the server
Each player should install the same Infinity Legends release, Minecraft 1.20.1, and compatible Forge build represented by the server pack. Matching only the visible modpack name is not enough: a hotfix, changed configuration, or different Forge revision can produce a disconnect or a crash during registry synchronization.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Compare the full pack version shown in the launcher with the server’s release.
- Do not add or remove individual mods on one side to “make it work.” Required server and client content is distributed as a matched set.
- Copy configuration changes deliberately and document them. A custom client-only visual setting is different from a gameplay configuration that must be shared.
- When a player receives a missing-mod, mismatched-version, or registry error, have that player reinstall the exact client release before editing the server.
Performance planning for quests, bosses, and dimensions
Infinity Legends can keep more than the overworld active: exploration generates new chunks, boss fights create entity and effect activity, and Ad Astra adds space-oriented dimensions. Plan maintenance around those workloads rather than judging the server only while everyone is standing in one base.
- Control exploration during the first session. Several players flying or moving rapidly in different directions can generate many chunks at once. Let the server settle between large expeditions and monitor the console for repeated warnings.
- Keep player bases organized. Excessive numbers of constantly active machines, entities, item drops, or redstone clocks can hurt tick time even when the modpack itself is installed correctly.
- Schedule backups around dimension travel. Stop the server cleanly before copying a world. A backup taken while files are actively changing may not restore cleanly.
- Watch both memory and CPU. Additional RAM cannot fix a CPU-bound tick loop, and a fast CPU cannot compensate for a host that is swapping because its memory allocation is too low.
- Change one variable at a time. If you adjust the host size, a server setting, or a JVM option, record the change and compare behavior after a controlled restart.
Update the pack without losing a world
Recent release notes describe fixes for server crashes and lag, repeated texture loading that could lead to crashes, artifact problems, and changes to performance mods. Updating is therefore a sensible first response to a known issue, but it must be done as a matched migration.

- Stop the running server normally and make a complete, dated backup of the world, player data, configs, and any scripts you have edited.
- Read the target release notes and confirm that a server pack exists for the exact target version.
- Install the new server pack in a new directory instead of overwriting the old one.
- Copy only the data you intentionally need, such as the world backup or documented server-specific settings. Do not blindly merge old configuration files into a release with changed defaults.
- Start the new directory with the supplied script and inspect the console for missing or incompatible mods.
- Join with clients updated to the same release and test quests, inventories, portals, and dimensions before inviting the full group.
- Keep the old directory and its backup until the new world has been played successfully for a reasonable period.
Never mix a V5.6 server pack with V5.4 hotfix files, or either one with V6.1 client files. If an update causes a problem, stop the new server, restore the backup to the previous release directory, and return the group to the earlier client version while you investigate.

The server closes during startup
- Run
java -versionand confirm Java 17. - Launch the supplied script from the server directory so relative paths resolve correctly.
- Check that the downloaded archive was a server pack and that extraction completed without errors.
- Compare the server-pack version with the client release you selected; do not remove a mod simply because its name appears in an error.
- Read the final console lines and the generated crash report. If the issue appeared after an update, test the previous backed-up release before changing JVM settings.
Players receive a mod or registry mismatch
This usually indicates that the client and server are not the same distribution. Reinstall the client’s exact pack release, confirm Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge, and remove any manually added or deleted mods. If only one player fails, compare that player’s installation with a known-good client rather than altering the server for everyone.
The server starts but lags
- Check whether lag begins during rapid exploration, boss events, or travel to another dimension.
- Ask players to pause large new-terrain expeditions while you observe the console and system resource usage.
- Confirm that the host has roughly the recommended 8 GB available and is not swapping.
- Reduce unnecessary always-loaded entities or machines in player areas.
- Update both sides to a release containing the relevant crash and performance fixes before experimenting with JVM flags or removing content.
Repeated texture loading or visual crashes
Release notes mention repeated texture loading as a cause that could lead to crashes. First update the client and server together to a release containing the applicable fix. A client-only graphics change or deleting a mod from the server is not a safe substitute for the maintained pack update. Preserve the crash report if the problem continues, including the affected dimension and the action that triggered it.
Artifacts, missing content, or a broken world after an update
Release notes also mention artifact problems. Stop the server, preserve the affected world, and test the update against a copy rather than repeatedly launching the production save. If the previous release works, restore it and report the reproducible steps with the exact versions. Never overwrite the only copy of a world while testing.

Friends cannot connect from outside the house
- Verify that the server is listening on the intended port and that the operating-system firewall allows TCP traffic.
- Confirm the router forwards that port to the correct local IP.
- Test using the public address from an external network, not only from the host itself.
- Check whether the ISP blocks inbound connections or places the connection behind carrier-grade NAT.
- If home networking remains impractical, consider a managed host with documented Forge support.
Self-hosting versus managed Infinity Legends hosting
Self-hosting provides direct control over files, backups, ports, and Java settings. It also makes you responsible for operating-system updates, Forge startup failures, router configuration, storage, monitoring, and recovery. Managed hosting trades some control for a control panel, provider-maintained network access, and a simpler installation path.
| Decision factor | Self-hosted server | Managed host |
|---|---|---|
| Initial setup | Install Java, extract the server pack, run Forge, accept the EULA, and configure networking yourself. | The provider may offer a pack-specific installer or CurseForge workflow; confirm that Infinity Legends and your release are supported. |
| Files and JVM settings | Full access to scripts, configs, logs, and Java options. | Access depends on the control panel and plan; verify file manager and console permissions. |
| Backups | You design, store, and test your own backups. | Ask whether backups are automatic, how many restore points are retained, where they are stored, and whether restores are included. |
| Networking | You handle firewall rules, router forwarding, public address changes, and port conflicts. | The provider normally supplies a reachable address, but confirm port allocation and network policy. |
| Hardware capacity | Limited by your machine’s CPU, memory, storage, and upload bandwidth. | Choose a plan with enough allocated RAM and CPU for your player count and dimensions; do not compare plans by RAM alone. |
| Updates | You download and migrate each matched server pack. | Some panels automate installation, but you still need a world backup and must verify the exact release before updating. |
| Location and latency | Determined by your home or rented machine. | Select a geographic location close to most players and check the provider’s current availability. |
| Cost | Uses existing hardware or a separate server bill; the total depends on electricity, bandwidth, and maintenance. | Monthly price varies by location, CPU, memory, storage, backups, and promotions; verify the current total at checkout. |

Before inviting players
- Server and clients show the same Infinity Legends release.
- Minecraft is 1.20.1 and Forge is the compatible build.
- Java reports version 17.
- The server starts from the supplied script without errors.
- The EULA has been accepted and the world has generated.
- A local join test succeeds.
- The firewall and router expose only the intended TCP port.
- A clean backup exists outside the live server directory.
Before every update
- Stop the server normally.
- Back up the world, player data, configs, and scripts.
- Confirm the target release has a matching server pack.
- Install the target pack in a new directory.
- Test quests, inventories, portals, and dimensions with matching clients.
- Keep the previous release available for rollback.
When asking for support
Include the exact pack version, Minecraft and Forge versions, Java version, operating system, host memory, the last console error, and the action that triggered the problem. State whether every client was updated together. This information separates a release mismatch from a network, resource, or world-data problem and prevents destructive trial-and-error changes.
