Infinity Legacy II 4.6 Modpack Guide: Minecraft 1.21.1 Installation and Server Setup

A complete Infinity Legacy II 4.6 guide covering Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge installation, 10–12 GB client memory, Java 21 server setup, networking, backups and troubleshooting.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Infinity Legacy II 4.6 runs on Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1 with NeoForge. Install the 4.6 client through a supported launcher, reserve about 10–12 GB of RAM, and use Java 21 plus the matching InfinityLegacyIIServer-v4.6.zip for a dedicated server. Every player and the server must use the same pack release, Minecraft version and NeoForge loader.

What Infinity Legacy II is

Infinity Legacy II is an expert-oriented progression modpack by WesleyJBA. Its central loop combines automation, custom multiblocks, custom EMC systems and deliberately extreme recipes. Questlines provide a route through the progression, while in-game guidance is intended to make an otherwise demanding pack approachable to beginners.

The project author describes it as “a modpack focused on progression and grinding, with a lot of automation and custom recipes.” That description is important when deciding whether the pack fits your group: this is not a lightly modified survival experience. Advancement depends on building production chains, learning pack-specific recipes and completing staged objectives rather than simply collecting vanilla resources.

The official CurseForge files page snapshot current to October 14, 2026 lists 106,129 downloads. The current release shown there is version 4.6, uploaded October 13, 2026, for Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge. The corresponding dedicated-server archive was uploaded October 14, 2026.

Compatibility at a glance

Component Required target What to verify
Modpack Infinity Legacy II 4.6 Do not mix 4.6 with an older client or server unless the whole group intentionally remains on that older build.
Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1 The profile and server must both report 1.21.1.
Loader NeoForge Forge, Fabric or a different NeoForge build is not an interchangeable substitute.
Client memory About 10–12 GB allocated This is the project’s guidance, not a promise of a fixed frame rate or guaranteed stability.
Dedicated-server archive InfinityLegacyIIServer-v4.6.zip Download the archive matching the client release.
Server Java Java 21 Check the Java runtime before troubleshooting mod-loading failures.
Default network port TCP 25565 Open it on the host firewall and router only when outside players need access.

Older 1.21.1 files remain visible on the files page. Select 4.6 for a new installation; choose an older file only when you are deliberately joining or preserving a server pinned to that exact build.

What to prepare before installing

Use Minecraft Java Edition

Infinity Legacy II is a Java Edition PC pack. You need a legitimate Minecraft Java Edition installation and a launcher that can create or import modpack profiles. Bedrock Edition cannot load a NeoForge modpack.

Make enough memory available

The project page asks players to allocate 10–12 GB of RAM to the instance. Treat that range as a practical requirement signal. It is separate from the computer’s total physical memory: the operating system, launcher, browser and other applications still need room. Close memory-heavy programs before launch, and avoid assigning more memory than the machine can provide without swapping.

Keep a clean instance directory

Create a new profile rather than dropping the pack’s files into an unrelated modded installation. A clean directory makes it easier to identify a wrong loader, leftover mods or an outdated configuration when something fails.

Install the client with CurseForge

  1. Install Minecraft Java Edition for PC and open a supported launcher that integrates with CurseForge.
  2. In the launcher, create a Minecraft profile for version 1.21.1 and select NeoForge as the mod loader.
  3. Search for Infinity Legacy II and choose the project maintained by WesleyJBA.
  4. Select release 4.6 rather than an older 1.21.1 file, then install the profile.
  5. Open the profile’s settings and allocate 10–12 GB of RAM. If your computer has little spare memory, close other applications before starting; do not compensate by assigning memory beyond the machine’s physical limits.
  6. Launch the instance once. Wait for the complete title screen before creating a world. This first run lets the launcher build configuration files and exposes missing Java, loader or memory problems before you invest time in a save.
  7. Create a new world or import an existing world only after the title screen loads successfully. Keep a separate backup of any world you import.

Alternative launcher path

GDLauncher exposes Infinity Legacy II through its CurseForge integration and documents the quick-install identifier #infinity-legacy-2. The identifier does not change the compatibility rules: choose the 1.21.1 NeoForge profile and release 4.6, then confirm the resulting instance uses the stated memory allocation.

Choosing a world and starting progression

Expect the opening hours to be slower than in a conventional kitchen-sink pack. Quests are there to structure progression, while custom recipes and extreme resource costs are intended to push you toward automation. Read the quest text before crafting an item that appears familiar; the pack may replace a vanilla recipe, require a custom multiblock or gate an ingredient behind an earlier chapter.

Use quests as a dependency map

Complete the earliest available objectives and note which machines, multiblocks and resource systems they unlock. When a recipe appears impossible, check the quest line and recipe viewer before assuming the installation is broken. The pack’s design expects players to build intermediate automation rather than bypassing a costly recipe with a vanilla shortcut.

Plan automation before scaling

Build a reliable supply of basic inputs before attempting a large end-stage recipe. Custom EMC mechanics can change the value of familiar materials, and extreme recipes may consume quantities that are impractical to gather manually. Keep storage and power expansion in your plan so that a new machine does not become a single point of failure.

Save before major changes

Make a world backup before adding large automation lines, changing server versions or experimenting with configuration files. Progression packs can alter recipes, quests and world data between releases; a backup is the simplest recovery route if a migration does not behave as expected.

Set up a dedicated Infinity Legacy II server

A dedicated server is the right choice when several players need a persistent world or when the host computer should not also run the client. The server must use the same 4.6 pack release, Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge target as every connecting client.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Open the official CurseForge files page and download InfinityLegacyIIServer-v4.6.zip. Confirm the upload and version before downloading; the matching archive is listed as uploaded October 14, 2026.
  2. Create a new, dedicated server directory with sufficient free disk space and extract the ZIP into it. Do not combine its files with another modpack’s directory.
  3. Install Java 21 on the server machine. Verify that the start script will call Java 21 rather than an older system runtime.
  4. Run the included NeoForge server setup or initialization process as described by the extracted files. Let it generate the initial libraries and configuration instead of copying files from a different pack.
  5. Start the server once, then stop it cleanly when it reaches the point at which configuration files are created. Open eula.txt, read the Minecraft EULA and set the acceptance value as required before starting again.
  6. Review the supplied start script and set memory flags appropriate to the world and player count. The project’s client guidance is 10–12 GB; a server should be sized conservatively within the host’s physical RAM, leaving headroom for the operating system and any other services.
  7. Start the server again and watch the console until it reports that the world is ready. The first launch can take longer while libraries, registries and world data are created.
  8. For local testing, connect from the same network using the server computer’s local address. Test a second account or player before opening the server to the public internet.
  9. If remote players will connect, permit TCP port 25565 through the host firewall and forward that port on the router to the server’s local address. Do not expose unrelated administration ports.
  10. Give players the exact client instructions: install Infinity Legacy II 4.6 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, allocate the required memory and connect only after the server is fully started.

Memory planning for a server

There is no published player-count benchmark or universal server allocation for this pack. Start with a conservative value that fits the machine, then observe actual memory use while players explore and automate. World generation, large farms and simultaneous machine processing can create short-lived peaks. Increasing the Java heap cannot compensate for inadequate physical RAM; if the operating system begins swapping, performance usually becomes less stable rather than better.

Backups and maintenance

Stop the server before copying the world directory for a consistent backup, or use a host’s documented snapshot system. Keep at least one backup from before each pack update. Record the old pack ZIP and configuration alongside the save so that a rollback restores the complete environment rather than only the world files.

Client and server matching checklist

  • Both sides use Infinity Legacy II 4.6.
  • Both sides use Minecraft 1.21.1.
  • Both sides use NeoForge, not a different loader.
  • The server’s mod and configuration files come from the official 4.6 server archive.
  • Every player has completed one successful local launch before attempting multiplayer.
  • The server is fully started before a player tries to join.
  • A world backup exists before changing files or versions.

A mismatch can look like a network problem even when the network is healthy. Compare the displayed pack and loader versions first, then inspect logs only after those values agree.

Troubleshooting Infinity Legacy II

The client cannot join the server

Check version pairing before changing ports or reinstalling Java. Confirm the client profile says Infinity Legacy II 4.6, Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, and confirm the server was built from InfinityLegacyIIServer-v4.6.zip. Remove any manually added mods from the client that are not part of the server’s installation. If the versions match, test the server locally; a local success followed by a remote failure points toward firewall or router configuration rather than mod compatibility.

Startup stops during mod loading

Verify Java 21 first. Then compare the server directory with a fresh extraction of the official 4.6 archive and inspect the start script’s memory flags. A partial extraction, files copied from an older release or an obsolete Java executable can all stop initialization before the world is available. Restore the directory from a clean backup rather than repeatedly adding random library files.

The launcher crashes or closes before the title screen

Confirm the profile is using NeoForge 1.21.1 and has 10–12 GB allocated. Close other high-memory applications and try again. If the computer cannot keep the allocation available, reduce background usage or move the instance to a machine with more physical RAM; do not assume that a larger heap alone will solve the problem.

The pack launches but becomes unstable under load

Reduce simultaneous world-generation activity first. Ask players to explore in a controlled way, avoid generating several new regions at once and temporarily pause heavy automation while diagnosing the issue. Increase available memory only when the machine has unused physical RAM. The 10–12 GB project guidance is not a performance guarantee, and no independent crash-rate or player-count study establishes a universal setting.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A world behaves differently after an update

Stop and restore the pre-update backup if recipes, quests or blocks are missing. Confirm that the client and server were updated together. Do not open a valuable world in a new pack release until you have a tested copy; progression changes can affect both recipes and stored world data.

Updating or pinning a release

Updating an existing server

  1. Announce a maintenance window and stop the server cleanly.
  2. Copy the complete world and configuration directories to a separate backup location.
  3. Keep the old server archive and start script so a rollback remains possible.
  4. Install the new release in a separate directory or replace files only according to the pack’s supplied update process.
  5. Update every client to the same release before allowing connections.
  6. Start the server without players, confirm the console reaches a ready state and inspect the world for missing content.
  7. Open the server to players only after the test is successful.

Staying on an older build

Pinning an older 1.21.1 file is valid when an existing community or server requires it. Record the exact pack version, loader version and server archive, and tell new players not to select the current 4.6 profile by mistake. Mixing a current client with a pinned server is more likely to produce a join error than a playable compromise.

How to evaluate managed hosting

A managed host can simplify Java installation, backups and port configuration, but a generic modded-Minecraft plan is not automatically suitable. Ask the provider to confirm support for NeoForge 1.21.1 and the official Infinity Legacy II 4.6 server archive before paying.

Hosting criterion Question to ask Why it matters
Pack deployment Can you upload or one-click install InfinityLegacyIIServer-v4.6.zip? Some panels install only their own curated packs.
Loader support Is NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1 available and selectable? A Forge or Fabric-only panel cannot run this instance correctly.
Guaranteed resources What RAM and CPU resources are reserved rather than shared? Automation and world generation can expose resource contention.
Backups Are automated backups included, how often do they run and how are restores performed? Pack updates can alter recipes, quests and world data.
File access Can administrators edit start flags, configs, logs and the server directory? Direct access is useful for memory tuning and diagnosis.
Update controls Can the owner pin 4.6 and approve updates manually? Automatic updates can break client/server parity.
Latency Where is the physical region, and can players test latency? Geographic distance affects interaction responsiveness.
Price and limits What recurring price, storage limit, player policy and overage rules apply? A low headline price may omit the RAM or storage this pack needs.

FadeHost publishes an Infinity Legacy II deployment workflow, which makes it an example of the type of documentation to look for. Availability, pricing and resource guarantees can change, so verify the current plan directly and require explicit confirmation of 4.6, NeoForge 1.21.1, server-archive upload and adequate RAM.

Practical launch checklist

  • Install Minecraft Java Edition on the PC or server.
  • Select Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
  • Install Infinity Legacy II 4.6.
  • Allocate about 10–12 GB to the client and leave the operating system headroom.
  • Launch once before importing or creating an important world.
  • For a server, use Java 21 and the matching official server ZIP.
  • Accept the EULA only after reading it, then configure the start script.
  • Back up the world before updates or major automation changes.
  • Open TCP 25565 only when remote access is needed.
  • Require every player to match the server’s pack, Minecraft and NeoForge versions exactly.

With those conditions met, Infinity Legacy II’s demanding progression becomes predictable to manage: quests indicate the intended route, automation handles the pack’s costly recipes, and disciplined version and backup practices protect the shared world.
