Materials and construction
The Queen side/back cover is 60% recycled polyester and 40% lyocell. The filling is 100% recycled polyester hollow fiber. IKEA’s product copy says:
“This supportive pillow gives you a comfy sleep thanks to the soft, fluffy polyester filling and the lyocell/polyester fabric that breathes and absorbs moisture.”

That breathability and moisture-absorbing claim is IKEA’s own description. It has not been independently verified, and the same applies to the support and comfort language on the listing.
Who it is designed for
IKEA positions this model for side and back sleepers. Loft, meaning the height the pillow holds when you rest on it, is the main reason this matters. A side sleeper needs enough height to keep the neck level with the spine across the gap between head and shoulder. A back sleeper usually needs less height than that. IKEA calls the Queen side/back pillow “high,” which is a description of its design, not a universal judgment that it will suit every side sleeper.

If you usually sleep on your stomach, IKEA’s lower stomach-sleeper model is the listing built for that position. Choosing between the two is mainly a question of sleep position rather than brand or fabric.

The Queen side/back listing states machine washable at 140°F (60°C). The King side/back listing specifies warm machine washing up to that temperature on a normal cycle, with medium tumble drying. Because the Queen-specific care instructions were not separately confirmed for this review, check the sewn-in care label on your pillow before washing.
