I Vibe-Coded a Career App Around 1,016 O*NET Jobs—with Sanity Workflows and Mot

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The project title describes a career app built around 1,016 O*NET jobs, two Sanity Workflows, a patched plugin, and a mascot named Mot. Those are the project’s reported particulars, not details independently confirmed by public documentation. What can be established is the surrounding Sanity context: the company announced Workflows in beta on September 14, 2026, while its Labs plugin listing recommends the official feature and labels the plugin deprecated.

What the project title says—and what remains unverified

The title frames this as a first-person build story: a career app organized around 1,016 O*NET jobs, with two workflows in Sanity, a patched plugin, and a mascot called Mot. Public searches did not locate a matching app, repository, author account, or project walkthrough. As a result, those specifics should be understood as claims in the project title rather than independently documented implementation facts.

In particular, the number 1,016 does not establish whether the records are O*NET occupations, individual job postings, or a transformed subset. No public source identified the data release or vintage, explained how records were selected, or documented the app’s user outcomes. The available evidence also does not explain what Mot does in the product or what the two workflows govern.

What Sanity’s workflow sources establish

Sanity Workflows

Sanity’s company announcement on September 14, 2026 described Workflows as “in beta today.” That dates the announcement’s stated status; it does not establish the feature’s status at any later date. See Sanity’s announcement for the company’s description.

  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.

  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The Labs plugin is separate from the official feature

The npm listing for @sanity-labs/sanity-plugin-workflows labels that package deprecated and says to prefer Sanity’s official Workflows feature. It also says the package would enter maintenance mode when the official feature reached general availability. The listing describes a configurable plugin and includes version-specific setup and compatibility details, so any claim about a particular project’s patched version would need that project’s own version and patch information. The package listing is at npm; the official feature documentation referenced there is Sanity’s Editorial Workflows documentation.

The official Studio plugin has its own constraints

Sanity also publishes a distinct package, @sanity/workflow-studio-plugin, for a workflow interface in Studio. Its listing says that every @sanity/workflow-* package is pre-1.0 and that APIs may change. That is package documentation, not a guarantee about the stability of a specific app integration. Consult the live listing for current requirements and versions: @sanity/workflow-studio-plugin on npm.

What a responsible workflow comparison can say

The available sources do not reveal which workflow implementation the app used, what its patch changed, or whether the two named workflows map to editorial stages, permissions, or other gates. They do support a practical distinction between the official feature and the Labs package:

Consideration Official Sanity Workflows Sanity Labs workflow plugin
Evidence in the cited sources Sanity announced the feature as in beta on September 14, 2026. The npm listing describes a configurable workflow plugin.
Maintenance signal The cited announcement describes the official feature; it does not establish later status. The listing labels the package deprecated and recommends the official feature.
Compatibility and API detail Current requirements are not established by the announcement. The listing includes version-specific setup and compatibility details; the app’s patched version is unknown.
App-specific use Whether the app used it, and for which stages or roles, is not documented. Whether the app patched this package, why, and at what version is not documented.

For any current implementation decision, check live documentation and package requirements rather than assuming the 2026 announcement or package listing still describes the latest release. A patch may solve a project-specific need, but without its diff, package version, and compatibility context, its necessity or safety cannot be assessed.

An adjacent jobs-platform example is not this app

Sanity’s Openwork project page describes a separate jobs platform whose listings are synchronized regularly, with Algolia used for search and Sanity for editing. It demonstrates one possible division between job data, search, and editorial management; it does not show that the app in this title uses Openwork’s design or components. See Sanity’s Openwork project page.

What would substantiate the build story

A project page, repository, screenshots, or walkthrough could turn the title’s claims into verifiable technical detail. The key evidence would connect the data, workflow, and product behavior:
