Does modding GTA V turn it into GTA VI?
Not on the evidence available. Rockstar describes GTA V as taking place in Los Santos and nearby hills, countryside, and beaches. Those are distinct settings, and a GTA V modification should be called GTA VI-inspired only when its actual changes are identified. Rockstar announced that GTA VI will release on November 19, 2026. Its support page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As of October 13, 2026, GTA VI is still forthcoming.

Which PC version of GTA V is involved?
Rockstar’s PC upgrade announcement names two editions: GTAV Enhanced and GTAV Legacy. Rockstar said the upgrade would be free to existing PC owners and that Legacy would continue to be supported. That announcement does not establish whether any third-party mods work across both editions, and the video listing does not disclose which version it uses.
