Plain HTML can be the frontend of a SaaS, but it does not make the application static when it reads or writes account-specific data. Supabase can provide Postgres and authentication, while Vercel can deploy the web assets; the application still needs a deliberate data model and strict access controls. The available evidence verifies what these platforms support, not what this particular tuition product does or whether it is deployed or used by schools.
What “plain HTML” means for a SaaS
HTML, CSS and JavaScript can render forms and screens in a browser without a frontend framework. That describes the interface, not the whole application. If users sign in and view or change their own institution’s records, the product depends on backend services for identity, data storage and authorization.

Vercel documents hosting static HTML, CSS and JavaScript assets, as well as Git- and CLI-based deployment workflows. It also supports SaaS dashboards and authenticated pages served with Vercel Functions. Those are available platform options; they do not establish that this project uses Functions or that it needs them. Vercel’s frontend documentation and Functions documentation describe those capabilities.

What Supabase contributes—and what the app must still provide
Database and identity
Supabase provides a Postgres database for each project, with Auth and related platform services. Supabase Auth issues, validates and refreshes JWTs; its client SDKs support authentication requests and token persistence. These services provide building blocks, not the application’s tuition-specific schema or workflows. Supabase’s database overview and Auth documentation explain the platform services.
#1 Best Overall
A tuition product’s data model depends on what it actually handles. Student records, invoices, payments, attendance, reminders and reporting are possible product areas, not verified features of this build. The schema needs to reflect the real workflows and relationships rather than assuming that authentication alone separates institutions’ information.
Row-level security and grants
For browser access to Supabase tables, row-level security (RLS) and database grants are central parts of the security boundary. Supabase cautions: “A table in an exposed schema without RLS is readable and writable by any role with a grant on it.” In practice, enabling RLS is not enough by itself: policies must restrict which rows each user can access, and grants determine which operations roles may perform. See the Supabase Row Level Security guide and its roles documentation.

For a multi-institution product, policies need to enforce the intended separation at the database level—for example, that a signed-in user can access only records associated with an institution they are authorized to use. The exact schema, membership model and policies must be designed for the application; no particular arrangement is verified here. Supabase’s production checklist advises enabling RLS and setting reasonable policies, while also accounting for grants.
Keep privileged keys out of browser code
Supabase permits frontend applications to use a publishable key when exposed tables are protected by correctly configured RLS and least-privilege grants. A publishable key is not a substitute for those controls. Supabase warns that secret and service-role keys bypass RLS, so they must never be placed in HTML, JavaScript bundles or any other browser-accessible code. See Supabase’s API key guidance.

If a task requires elevated privileges that should not be available to a user’s browser, it belongs in a trusted server-side environment, with secrets held there—not in the frontend. Vercel Functions are one documented capability, but the available information does not establish whether this product uses them or needs a particular server-side workflow.
What Vercel can—and cannot—tell you about deployment
Vercel supports deploying static web assets and offers Git and CLI workflows. That can suit a plain HTML frontend. A project that also depends on Supabase is still a data-backed application even if its deployed interface consists of static files. Whether additional server-side code is needed depends on the product’s requirements, especially any operations that must run with privileged credentials. Vercel’s deployment documentation covers deployment workflows.

What is established about this tuition product
The platform documentation supports the technical feasibility of combining a plain HTML interface, Supabase services and Vercel deployment. It does not establish what this particular SaaS does, whether it accepts tuition payments, how its data is isolated, whether it is live, or whether any institutions use it. Those details require confirmation from the builder; they should not be inferred from the technology stack.
