Those facts describe what it is—and what it is not—but they do not tell the whole engineering story. The central design questions for an editor like this are how it represents a drawing, how user actions change that drawing, and how work is saved and moved between devices.
What makes a browser vector editor an editor?
A vector editor needs more than a way to display shapes. It must keep a representation of the artwork that can be selected and changed: a line can be moved, a path adjusted, or an object resized without treating the whole image as one flat picture.

The browser offers several ways to draw graphics, including SVG, Canvas, and WebGL. SVG is a text-based web standard that works with CSS, the DOM, and JavaScript, and its files can be searched and edited as text. Those traits make SVG a plausible choice for an editor, but they do not establish which rendering method or document model this editor uses. MDN’s SVG overview describes the format and its web integrations; MDN’s guide to browser drawing graphics outlines the broader options.

The document model and the picture on screen
One important distinction is between the editable document and its rendered appearance. An editor might use the SVG elements themselves as its working document, maintain a separate scene graph, or keep a custom model and generate SVG for display or export. Each choice affects how edits are represented, how imported files are handled, and how closely the editor can control rendering.

The available project information does not establish which of those approaches this editor takes, so it would be misleading to claim a particular architecture or performance trade-off. What matters to a user is whether a drawing remains reliably editable after actions such as selecting, transforming, and changing paths—and whether opening or exporting it preserves the features they rely on.
Turning input into edits
Pointer input is the bridge between a gesture and a document change. Clicking a shape may select it; dragging may move it or adjust a control point; keyboard input may provide an alternative for some operations. A usable editor also has to make selection and editing states clear, account for missed or ambiguous hits, and support recovery when an action is unwanted.

These are design requirements, not confirmed implementation details of this editor. For comparison, drawDB documents an SVG surface with pointer events, browser-local diagram storage through IndexedDB and Dexie, local storage for preferences, and SVG and PDF exports. That example illustrates one possible arrangement, not the implementation here. drawDB’s explanation of how its editor works provides those project-specific details.

Saving, exporting, and keeping work portable
“Runs in a browser” does not by itself say where a document is stored. Work might be saved locally in the browser, downloaded as a file, or synchronized through an online service; each option has different implications for backups and moving to another device. The editor’s actual persistence and export behavior is not established here, so users should not assume that closing the tab, clearing browser data, or switching devices will preserve a drawing.

Meanwhile, the ergonomic pen grip helps you avoid the strain that comes from hours of using a mouse.
That distinction is practical, not theoretical. drawDB advises users to export important work before clearing browser data or moving devices, because its diagrams are stored in the browser. That is a useful portability caution for browser-local editors generally, but it should not be read as a description of this editor. The drawDB documentation explains its own storage and export model.
SVG support is a product boundary
Supporting SVG does not necessarily mean supporting every SVG feature with identical behavior. Text, masks, clipping, and filters can raise compatibility questions, especially when files move between editors or rendering engines. A product needs to decide which features it supports, how it handles unsupported content, and what users can expect when importing and exporting.

The open-source Donner project documents support gaps and partial behavior in some of these areas, and its README describes CPU and GPU rendering backends. That is evidence of the choices and limits in Donner—not a feature list or performance claim about this editor. Donner’s project README is a concrete example of why format support needs to be described precisely.

The editor has no AI features. That is a product boundary, not an explanation of the motivation behind it: the available facts do not establish why that boundary was chosen or which capabilities were deliberately excluded. It also does not, by itself, reveal how the editor handles rendering, editing, saving, or export.

The useful way to evaluate a vector editor is to look at the work it supports and the behavior users can verify: how objects are edited, what file features survive import and export, and how drawings can be recovered or shared. Those specifics—not assumptions based on the absence of AI—determine whether it fits a particular workflow.
