There is no bridge that is best for every Hyperliquid transfer. Compare the exact source and destination chains, token, amount expected to arrive, end-to-end time, and verification model before choosing a route. “Official” and “third-party” labels alone do not tell you the full cost, asset representation, or who can authorize or interrupt a transfer.
What the comparison covers
“Hyperliquid bridge” can refer to different routes and transfer directions. Hyperliquid’s exchange API documents a withdrawal flow to its bridge contract; that documentation does not establish that every deposit, supported token, or current bridge interface uses the same flow. A named third-party option is The Hyperliquid Bridge on Stargate, announced by LayerZero in May 2025 for moving supported assets from LayerZero-connected chains into HyperCore and HyperEVM.

That launch announcement listed USDT0, USDe, PLUME, COOK, USR, and RLP as day-one assets. It describes the original scope, not a current support list or a live quote. Confirm that the exact direction, token, and destination you need are currently available in the route interface.

Hyperliquid’s exchange API documentation describes validators signing a withdrawal request and sending it to the bridge contract. It states: “There is a $1 fee for withdrawing at the time of this writing and withdrawals take approximately 5 minutes to finalize.” The page was accessed on October 4, 2026, but does not state when that fee and timing figure was published. Treat it as a documentation-era estimate, not a guaranteed current price or completion time; check the quote and status for your transfer.

The audit scope is also specific: Hyperliquid’s audit index identifies the reviewed bridge as the legacy bridge. Zellic’s 2025 report describes the Arbitrum-side withdrawal flow and says it required signatures from at least two-thirds of validators under an equal-validator-power assumption. That finding applies to the assessed flow and contract, not automatically to every current Hyperliquid route.
Compare the routes using the evidence you can verify
| Comparison point | Hyperliquid documented withdrawal | The Hyperliquid Bridge on Stargate |
|---|---|---|
| What is established | Hyperliquid’s exchange API describes validators signing and sending a withdrawal request to the bridge contract (Hyperliquid Docs). | LayerZero announced the interface in May 2025 for supported assets moving from LayerZero-connected chains into HyperCore and HyperEVM. |
| Fee and timing figure | The API page states $1 and approximately five minutes to finalize “at the time of this writing”; current applicability is not established. | A current route-specific fee and end-to-end time are not stated in the launch announcement (LayerZero, May 2025). |
| Current route and token availability | The cited withdrawal documentation does not establish the full current route and token matrix. | The launch announcement listed USDT0, USDe, PLUME, COOK, USR, and RLP as day-one assets; current availability is not established by that announcement. |
| Verification and contract scope | The legacy bridge was assessed by Zellic; its report describes the Arbitrum-side withdrawal signature flow and the stated validator threshold. | The launch announcement alone does not establish the deployed route’s current verifier configuration, contracts, or upgrade authority. |
| Delivered asset and failure recovery | Not stated in the cited API withdrawal description; inspect the current route details and status or support guidance. | Not stated in the launch announcement; check the current route’s asset representation and failure or recovery process. |
Use this table to identify what remains to verify, not to infer that one option is cheaper or faster. No route-specific third-party quote or independent performance benchmark is established here.

How to compare the real cost and arrival time
Compare the amount received, not just the headline fee
A transfer’s cost can include source-chain gas, protocol charges, partner fees, a destination receive fee, and a liquidity or exchange-rate effect. LayerZero’s Value Transfer API documentation describes percentage-based base and partner fees and a fixed receive fee on CCTP routes; it says up to three fee types may apply and that fees are deducted before bridging the remainder. This is an example of fee structure, not a quote for The Hyperliquid Bridge on Stargate or any particular transfer.
For each candidate route, record the displayed receive amount alongside every listed charge. Note the source and destination networks, token, amount, and quote time, and check whether the receive amount already includes costs. A fixed charge can weigh more heavily on a small transfer, while percentage fees and price impact can change with size. Do not assume that a quoted fee covers source gas or destination costs unless the route says so.

Separate each stage of the wait
Ask what the quoted time measures: source-chain confirmation, bridge verification or settlement, destination execution, or the point when funds are actually spendable. Liquidity routes may deliver against destination-chain liquidity rather than wait for the same settlement path as a canonical bridge; the provider and settlement arrangement are route-specific. A “fast” label is not enough to establish equivalent verification or finality.
Ethereum.org identifies transaction time and the number of user steps as convenience factors, while describing different bridge designs and their trade-offs. Network congestion and attacks can also make completion uncertain. Treat any estimate as route- and chain-dependent, not as a universal bridge speed.

What trust assumptions to check
A bridge transfer combines the security of the source and destination chains with the assumptions introduced by the bridge route. Ethereum.org describes native bridges, validator- or oracle-based bridges, generalized message-passing systems, and liquidity networks as distinct designs. These are not a simple safe-to-unsafe ranking: actual security depends on the implementation, configuration, and authority over its contracts.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Who observes and verifies the source event? Identify whether the route relies on a chain’s native validators, a bridge validator or guardian set, an oracle or verifier configuration, or another mechanism.
- Who can pause or change the route? Check the current contract documentation for upgrade and pause authorities, and whether control rests with a multisignature, governance process, or other administrator.
- What asset will arrive? Confirm whether it is native, canonical, or wrapped, and what backs a wrapped representation. A representation can have exposure beyond the underlying token’s own market and chain risks.
- What does the audit cover? Match the audit’s date, contract, chain side, and code version to the route you plan to use. An audit is evidence of a review, not a guarantee against loss or proof that a different route has been reviewed.
- What happens when something fails? Find the route’s status page or transaction lookup, and its instructions for delayed transfers, failed destination calls, pauses, and support. Do not assume a failed or delayed transaction has an automatic refund path.
As an example of why verifier details matter, Wormhole’s security documentation describes canonical Guardian VAAs with a 13-of-19 signature threshold and notes separate, chain-specific delegated-guardian assumptions. That illustrates a possible verifier model; it is not evidence that Wormhole is a supported Hyperliquid route.
A practical checklist before approving a transfer
- Confirm direction and destination. Select the precise source and destination chains, destination account or environment, and token. Verify that the route currently supports that combination.
- Check the asset form and route details. Review the token representation, current contract addresses, verifier configuration, and any available audit scope for the deployed route.
- Read the live quote. Record the amount sent, amount expected to arrive, listed fees, source gas, and quote time. Compare like-for-like quotes for the same networks, asset, and amount.
- Review timing and recourse. Identify which transfer stages are included in any time estimate and where to check status or get help if the route stalls or the destination action fails.
- Verify the transaction before signing. Check the official route interface, network, token, and receiving address. For an unfamiliar route or material amount, consider a small test transfer first, taking into account any minimums and fixed fees.
Ethereum.org’s bridge overview puts the choice in practical terms: “With bridges, there are no perfect solutions. Rather, there are only trade-offs made to fulfill a purpose.” Choose the route whose current quote, destination asset, timing, and verification assumptions fit your transfer—not the one with the strongest label.
