The message alone does not show that Hulu is shutting down or that your account is at fault. Update the TV and Hulu app, then check Hulu’s current support information for your exact model.
Why does Hulu say it is no longer supported on your TV?
Hulu compatibility depends on the TV’s make, model, operating system, and software version—not simply on whether it is a smart TV. A brand may have supported and unsupported models, and platform support can have model- or release-year limits. Hulu also cautions that not every device running Android TV is supported.

Without the TV’s full model number and software details, it is not possible to identify the precise cause. The warning is about device compatibility; by itself, it does not indicate that Hulu has closed or that there is a problem with your subscription.

What to check before replacing the TV
- Record the device details. Find the TV’s brand and full model number, operating system and version, and Hulu app version. Note when the warning first appeared.
- Update the TV software. Connect the TV to the internet and install any available firmware or system update.
- Check for a Hulu app update. Hulu provides platform-specific instructions for checking app and system updates. See its app and system update guidance.
- Restart the TV and open Hulu again. If the app store no longer offers Hulu, or Hulu’s current support information excludes your model, updating may not restore compatibility.
- Check Hulu’s listing for the exact model or device. Do not assume that support for a brand or operating-system family means every device in that family works.

How to watch Hulu if the TV’s built-in app is unsupported
If Hulu’s current list excludes your TV, an external streaming player may be an alternative to replacing the television. Hulu lists device families including Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Roku, Apple TV, and Chromecast. Confirm the exact player is supported before buying; support for a device family does not guarantee that every generation or model will work.
Before choosing a player, check that your TV has an available HDMI input and that the player’s power setup will work for your installation. Also consider whether it supports the other streaming apps your household uses and whether its remote and setup suit your needs. Hulu’s family-level listing does not establish compatibility, price, or performance for a particular model.

Is Hulu going away?
No—not according to Hulu’s May 19, 2026 help page. Hulu said subscriptions would continue and that the service would be further integrated into Disney+ by the end of 2026. The page said eligible subscribers could explore Hulu content through Disney+, while Hulu + Live TV Only subscribers and Hulu add-on subscribers could not use that Disney+ access at the time of the notice. It also said viewers could continue watching through the Hulu app and website, and that Hulu + Live TV would remain on Hulu for now. Read Hulu’s service update.

That service update does not explain why a particular TV displays an unsupported-device warning. Treat TV compatibility and changes to Hulu’s services or account access as separate questions.
