Yes. HubSpot offers a CRM tier that costs $0 per month and does not expire. It is not unlimited: HubSpot’s current USD pricing page lists a maximum of two users and 1,000 contacts, along with caps on other records and free tools. For a small team, that may be enough to get started; larger teams or needs such as more email sends and advanced features call for a closer look at paid plans.
What does “free” mean for HubSpot’s CRM?
HubSpot’s free tier is ongoing access, not just a time-limited trial. The company describes its Free Tools as a set of lite versions of selected paid-product tools, built around Smart CRM, HubSpot’s underlying customer database. The free CRM product page lists contact, deal, task and activity management, reporting, CRM import, email tracking, meeting scheduling, live chat and sales quotes. These are product descriptions, not a promise that every feature is unrestricted.

| Free-account item | HubSpot’s listed limit | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Users | Up to 2 | A team with more than two people who need access will need to evaluate a paid option. |
| Contacts | Up to 1,000 | This is the stated contact cap for the Free Tools account. |
| Other standard object types | Up to 1 million records across all other standard object types per account | This is a separate record limit; it does not raise the 1,000-contact cap. |
| Marketing email | 2,000 sends per calendar month, with HubSpot branding | This counts email sends, not the number of contacts in the CRM. |
| Personal meeting links | 1 | The free account lists a maximum of one personal meetings link. |
| Sales snippets | Up to 3 | Snippets are capped on the free tier. |
| Email templates | Up to 3 per account | The free tier does not provide unlimited templates. |

Are HubSpot CRM contacts really free?
Smart CRM contacts themselves are not charged as a separate Smart CRM fee, but that does not mean contacts can never affect a bill. HubSpot’s Product Specific Terms, modified February 2, 2026, say that Marketing Hub subscribers can be charged for contacts under that subscription even if those contacts were added through Smart CRM. If you add a paid marketing product, check its contact definitions, allowance and order form rather than assuming the free CRM’s contact treatment applies to the whole subscription. Read the HubSpot Product Specific Terms and the terms for your specific subscription.
When would you need to consider a paid plan?
There is no single paid plan that is right for every CRM user. Compare your actual needs against HubSpot’s current plan details:

- Team size: Do more than two people need account access?
- Contact volume: Will you exceed the free tier’s 1,000-contact cap?
- Feature ceilings: Are the email-send limit, meeting link, templates, snippets, reporting or automation options sufficient for your workflow?
- Branding: Do you need to remove HubSpot branding from tools such as free marketing email?
- Price and eligibility: Does the price shown apply to your country, billing selection, package and new-customer eligibility?
HubSpot’s CRM product page describes Starter, Professional and Enterprise feature examples, while the pricing comparison gives more specific limits. Check the feature and package details for the particular product you intend to use; a plan name alone does not establish that it includes every capability you need.

HubSpot’s official USD pages do not show one universal Starter starting price. The Free Tools pricing comparison currently displays a new-customer Starter promotion from $7 per seat per month alongside a $20 figure. Separately, the CRM product page says Starter starts at $15 per seat per month, with Professional from $50 and Enterprise from $75 per seat per month. These are the pages’ stated figures, not a guarantee of the price for a particular account. The pages present different package and offer contexts; check the live price, billing cadence, location, plan scope and offer eligibility before relying on any amount. What happens to your data if free service ends?
HubSpot’s Product Specific Terms say users of Smart CRM or free services should retrieve their customer data before termination or expiration; the terms state HubSpot will not provide access to the data afterward. Plan an export before ending the service, and consult the current terms that apply to your account.
