The debut confirms an international launch announcement—not that the tablet is already available in every country. The launch report did not detail local prices or sale dates, so buyers should check Huawei’s listing for their market.
What Huawei announced—and what remains unclear
GSMArena reported the global debut on September 2, 2026, at Huawei’s Munich event. Its launch coverage listed a 144 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and said a PaperMatte version would be offered. That report did not provide pricing or availability. This describes the information in that launch report; it does not establish that prices or sale dates have not been announced in individual markets since then. Check the local Huawei site or retailer for current status.

Huawei’s global product page identifies the device as the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12-inch and lists its display and physical specifications. Huawei cautions that versions and specifications can vary by country or region, so a global announcement should not be read as confirmation of local stock or a uniform configuration.
Display: Flexible OLED, with PaperMatte limited to one edition
Huawei describes a 12-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte display. PaperMatte is specific to the PaperMatte Edition; other versions use a standard Flexible OLED screen. Huawei says the PaperMatte screen forms diffuse reflection to reduce the impact of light and sunlight, while qualifying the viewing experience as dependent on usage and environmental conditions. This is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent finding that PaperMatte is more comfortable or better for every user.

Huawei’s global specifications list a resolution of 3036 × 1952 pixels and 302 ppi. The page also lists a 93% screen-to-body ratio and a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio; these are manufacturer specifications rather than results from an independent comparative test. See Huawei’s global specifications.
Thickness and weight: compare like with like
Huawei lists dimensions of 264.2 × 172.9 × 4.7 mm and an approximate weight of 454 g including the battery. Huawei identifies these as laboratory figures and says actual measurements and available versions can vary. They are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

Regional figures differ. Huawei’s China page lists approximately 439 g for the standard-screen version and 454 g for the PaperMatte version. Because those figures apply to China-market versions, they should not be assumed to describe every global configuration. When comparing models, check the screen edition and the local product page rather than treating “MatePad Pro 12” as one identical specification worldwide.
Battery and regional model differences
Huawei’s China product page lists an equivalent typical battery capacity of 10,400 mAh and an equivalent rated capacity of 10,300 mAh. GSMArena’s global launch report separately described 9,760 mAh for the EU and 10,400 mAh elsewhere. These figures concern different market specifications; confirm the battery capacity for the exact regional model before comparing it with another tablet. The China page also distinguishes the standard MatePad Pro 12 and Enjoy Edition, listing Kirin T93 and T93A, respectively. Do not assume those China-market processor details apply to global SKUs.

Huawei’s China page states in Chinese that the 12-inch PaperMatte Edition uses Flexible OLED PaperMatte and other versions use Flexible OLED. That is a translation of the product-page description, not Huawei’s original English wording. See Huawei’s China product page.

Huawei identifies the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, HUAWEI Glide Keyboard, and HUAWEI MatePad Pro Folio Cover as accessories for the tablet. The M-Pencil Pro is sold separately; the keyboard and folio cover are available only in select configurations. Availability and what is included can vary, so check the exact model and bundle before buying an accessory.

- Confirm whether the tablet is the standard OLED or PaperMatte Edition.
- Check the local model’s battery and other specifications on Huawei’s regional page.
- Verify which accessories are included; do not assume the stylus, keyboard, or cover comes in the box.
- Confirm local price, sale date, and stock with Huawei or a local retailer.
