Huawei’s Mate 90 Pro pairs a Kirin 9035 chip with a variable-aperture 50 MP main camera and a 6,600 mAh typical-capacity battery. Huawei’s China purchase guide lists opening prices from CNY 6,999; those prices and sale details apply to China, and the cited materials do not establish international availability.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Huawei also advertises a 12,000-nit peak display brightness, but the product materials do not provide independent verification or a comparative test protocol. What the camera specifications mean
Variable aperture on the main camera
The main camera’s F1.4–F4.0 aperture range is a hardware specification: the lens can change aperture rather than using only one fixed setting. Huawei also lists OIS. The specification alone does not establish how well the phone handles low light, motion, portraits or changing scenes; no independent camera testing is established by the launch materials.

Telephoto, ultrawide and zoom
Huawei lists approximately 4× optical zoom, 8× optical-quality zoom and 100× digital zoom. These are the company’s zoom labels, not evidence that each setting delivers equivalent image detail. The telephoto/macro camera is specified to focus as close as 5 cm, according to Huawei’s product page.

Red Maple color camera
The third-generation Red Maple camera is included alongside the three listed RYYB cameras. IT之家 reported Huawei’s claim of a 37% improvement in color accuracy, but the report does not provide an independent measurement protocol. Treat the percentage as a Huawei claim rather than a verified real-world result: IT之家’s launch report.
Battery capacity and charging limits
The two battery figures describe different capacity ratings: 6,600 mAh is the typical capacity and 6,415 mAh is the rated capacity. Huawei specifies a built-in, non-removable battery. Neither figure tells you how long a charge lasts in use, and the reviewed launch materials do not establish independent battery-endurance results. See Huawei’s specification page.

The listed maxima are up to 100 W wired and 50 W wireless. Huawei says the maximum wired rate requires its 100 W charging kit; maximum wireless speed requires compatible Huawei wireless charging equipment and a qualifying charging kit. Actual power varies by usage scenario, so the headline rates are not a promise that every charger or charging session will reach them.
China configurations and opening prices

The listed colors are Emerald (翡冷翠), Amber Orange (琥珀橙), Crystal White (晶钻白) and Obsidian Black (曜石黑). Huawei’s guide does not establish that every color and storage option is available in every sales channel.
Performance claims and what remains unverified
IT之家 reported Huawei’s claimed gains over the Kirin 9030 in the Mate 80 Pro 12 GB version: 11% for CPU, 10% for GPU and 51% for NPU. These are Huawei comparison figures reported by IT之家, not independent benchmark results. The reviewed materials do not provide an independent performance test, battery-life study or camera evaluation.

Richard Yu, identified in Huawei’s launch release as an executive director of Huawei and chairman of Huawei Consumer BG, described the Mate 90 series as making a “comprehensive evolution” across design, performance, imaging, reliability and smart user experience. Huawei lists IP68 and IP69 water-resistance ratings and qualifies them with controlled test conditions. Its specification page describes an IP68 test involving still water to six metres for 30 minutes, as well as a separate IP69 spray test. Huawei warns that protection can decline through everyday wear and that liquid damage is excluded from warranty. These ratings describe tests, not a recommendation to submerge or spray the phone.
