As of Tom’s Guide’s October 1, 2026 report, U.S. Galaxy S26 prices were about $100 higher for each model’s 256GB version than Samsung’s February launch starting price. The reported increase is not identical across storage tiers: Tom’s Guide put some Ultra configurations $200 above their prior prices. These later prices are reported listings, not a price change confirmed in a Samsung announcement.

Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra more expensive?
Yes, in the reported U.S. comparison: its 256GB version was about $100 above the original starting price, while Tom’s Guide reported $200 increases for the 512GB and 1TB Ultra. The 1TB model was listed at $1,999 in that report. Those increases do not establish that every Ultra configuration, retailer, or market has the same price.
What changes between the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra?
The larger models cost more, but they also differ in physical size and feature tier. Samsung Electronics’ 2026 corporate report lists these specifications:

Samsung lists Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 or Exynos 2600 platform options, Android 16, and One UI 8.5 for the series. The cited corporate report does not specify which processor is offered in each country or configuration here, so verify the local model details if chipset choice matters. Specifications do not explain the price changes.

SamMobile reported price rises in the U.K., EU, and Canada, following earlier reports in India and South Korea. It described typical reported increases for most variants of around £80 in the U.K., €80 in the EU, and CAD 150 in Canada; it also noted larger rises for some 1TB Ultra configurations. These are market-specific figures reported by SamMobile, not currency conversions of the U.S. increases. Local retail prices and configurations vary, so check the listing for your country.

SamMobile linked the increases to higher memory-chip costs. The available coverage does not include a primary Samsung statement confirming that explanation for the October U.S. changes, so treat it as a reported explanation rather than a confirmed Samsung rationale.

- Choose storage based on use. Samsung UK lists 256GB and 512GB options for the S26 and S26+. Its FAQ suggests considering expected photos, video, apps, and games, and checking how much storage your current phone uses. Available capacities can differ by market.
- Compare the complete local price. Check the exact capacity and any trade-in or Samsung Care+ offer available in your market; Samsung UK describes those options, but that does not establish equivalent terms elsewhere.
- Account for the charger if buying in the U.K. Samsung UK says the S26 and S26+ include a data cable and SIM ejector but not a charger adapter. Do not assume the same package contents in another country without checking its local product page.
- Confirm the listing before checkout. Prices reported in October may have changed; verify the seller, condition, configuration, and availability rather than relying on a dated reported price.
