If html.to.design will not import a website in India, first identify which step fails: opening Figma, reaching the website, capturing it, or importing a file. The official guidance reviewed describes general import and network troubleshooting, not an India-specific block or workaround. For a public page, try the plugin’s Web tab; for a login-required or private page, capture it with the browser extension.
Find the step that is failing
Separate the problem into four checks before changing network settings:

- Does Figma open and load normally?
- Does the target website open in the same browser?
- If you use the browser extension, does its capture finish and reach the plugin?
- If you are uploading a file, does the failure occur only after selecting it?
This is a practical way to narrow down the issue using the documented import paths; it is not an India-specific diagnostic published by html.to.design. Note the exact error and the step where it appears.

Import a public website through the Web tab
- Open the html.to.design plugin in Figma.
- Choose the Web tab.
- Paste the page’s open URL and click Import.
- If it fails, try opening the same URL in a regular browser tab and record the exact plugin error.
This is the documented route for public pages. If the page requires a login, is only reachable on a private network, or depends on your signed-in session, use a browser capture instead of treating the failure as proof of a country restriction.

Capture private or session-specific pages with the extension
- Open the target page in your browser and sign in if needed.
- Open the html.to.design browser extension.
- Select the viewport and theme you need, then capture the page.
- Send the capture directly to the plugin, or save it as a .h2d file and upload it from the plugin’s Extension tab.
This route is intended for pages that cannot be fetched through a public URL, including private pages and pages whose state depends on your browser session. For details, see the extension import instructions and the private-page guide.
Check local file types and missing assets
The plugin’s supported file formats include .h2d, .html/.htm, webpage ZIP, Google Stitch ZIP, .eml/.emlx/.msg, and .mhtml/.mht. A ZIP should be smaller than 32 MB. Check the local file instructions if the plugin rejects a file.

An HTML file can refer to images, stylesheets, or scripts that are not inside the file. If those external resources are missing, inaccessible, or unavailable to the importer, the result may be incomplete. Check that the referenced resources exist and can be reached; when a local HTML import still lacks them, capture the rendered page using the browser extension instead. The vendor notes this limitation in its file import guidance.
Check Figma connectivity and managed network rules
If Figma itself has network errors, or an import action is blocked, inspect Figma’s Network settings rather than assuming the website importer is at fault. Figma says that blocked network domains can disrupt actions such as importing. Its guidance also describes broader signs of connectivity problems, such as Figma failing to load or file and team data not appearing when WebSocket traffic is blocked. - When Figma displays an action error, select “View settings” in the message to open the Network settings modal and see which actions are blocked.
- If the connection is managed by your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to review proxy, firewall, VPN, and domain allowlist rules against Figma’s network guidance.
- If Figma’s desktop app reports a connection error, Figma suggests trying its browser app or asking IT to unblock port 443. Do not bypass your organization’s network controls; request an approved change through its administrator. See Figma’s connection or server error 403 guidance and its troubleshooting checklist.
Do not mistake language selection for translation
html.to.design’s language option imports a version of the page in a language already available on that page; it does not translate the site’s text. See Import webpages in any language.

Is html.to.design blocked in India?
The reviewed official help pages do not identify an India-specific block or service restriction. Diagnose the failing step and any displayed error rather than inferring a country-level cause.
Does the language option translate the imported website?
No. It selects a language version that the website already makes available; it does not translate the content.
