Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsShort answer: the html.to.design Figma plugin imports publicly accessible URLs. Its companion browser extension can capture the page open in your browser, including a private or logged-in page, when you choose to capture it. DIV-RIOTS says the plugin and extension do not collect personal data, while the Chrome Web Store listing says the extension handles website content. Those statements describe different things: capturing page content is not the same claim as collecting personal data. They are vendor disclosures, not an independent technical audit.
What each html.to.design component can access
There are two distinct workflows. The Figma plugin’s URL import is documented for public URLs. For a private page, a page behind a login, or a particular browser-session state, DIV-RIOTS documents using its browser extension to capture the page currently open in the browser. The private-page instructions describe the extension flow.

| Question | Figma plugin URL import | Browser extension capture |
|---|---|---|
| Which page? | A publicly accessible URL, according to DIV-RIOTS’s URL-import documentation. | The page open in the browser, including private or logged-in pages and browser-specific states, when you initiate a capture; see DIV-RIOTS’s private-page documentation. |
| Does it use your browser session? | The public-URL workflow is not documented as capturing your private browser session. | It captures the page in your browser context, so content visible after you log in may be included. |
| Where can the capture go? | It is imported through the plugin workflow. The available documentation does not provide a complete technical data-flow account. | You can send the capture to the plugin or download a local .h2d file. |
| What exact permissions apply? | The plugin-specific Figma network-access label and allowed domains are not established by the general Figma guidance. | The store listing describes website-content handling and a need for Chrome debugging features, but does not enumerate the exact current browser permission prompt. |
Does html.to.design collect personal data?
DIV-RIOTS’s privacy policy, effective April 15, 2024, says that its Figma plugin and Chrome extension do not collect personal data. Separately, the Chrome Web Store listing identifies “Website content” as data handled by the extension and says it needs Chrome’s debugging features to map what you see in the browser into Figma. Read these as separate disclosures: the extension processes page content for a capture, while the policy states the vendor’s position about personal-data collection. Neither statement proves that the extension never reads page content, and neither is an independent technical audit.
The store listing reports extension version 0.0.206 and an update date of August 31, 2026. Listings and policies can change; check the current Chrome Web Store listing and DIV-RIOTS privacy policy for the latest disclosures.

Can it read everything you browse?
The available product-specific disclosures do not establish that the extension can access every site you visit at all times. The Chrome Web Store listing explains the capture purpose and website-content handling, but it does not list the exact permissions shown during installation or the extension’s current site-access scope.
Chrome’s general guidance says that website-data access can allow an extension to read, request, or modify information on pages, depending on the permission granted. That explains what some permission categories can mean; it does not establish that html.to.design requests access to every site or every possible category. Check the permission and site-access choices shown by Chrome for the installed extension. See Chrome Help’s explanation of extension access to website data.

What happens to a private-page capture?
DIV-RIOTS documents two ways to handle a capture made with the extension. You can send it directly to the Figma plugin, or save it as a local .h2d file and import that file later. The vendor says the local file is stored on your computer and the data never reaches its servers. If minimizing disclosure to DIV-RIOTS is your priority, the local-file route is the documented choice; sending the capture directly to the plugin is a separate route.

The local-file statement is the vendor’s description of its workflow, not an independent verification of the file’s behavior. The available materials do not establish a complete technical data flow for the public-URL import or the direct-send route.

How to check the permissions and network disclosures
Browser extension
Review Chrome’s live installation prompt and the extension’s site-access settings. The exact current permission strings for html.to.design were not established here, so do not infer them from Chrome’s general explanation. The Chrome Web Store listing is useful for the developer’s stated purpose and data-handling disclosure, but is not a substitute for the browser’s current permission controls.
Figma plugin
Check html.to.design’s Figma Community entry for its Data security information. Figma explains that network-access labels indicate whether a plugin can make requests to any domain, to a restricted list of domains, or to no domains. Its guidance describes the general disclosure system; it does not establish html.to.design’s specific current label or allowed-domain list. See Figma’s guide to reviewing a plugin’s security information.

Or skip the browser setup
If your goal is a website screenshot rather than a Figma import, ScreenshotNeo offers a screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return an image or PDF; for example, save a WebP screenshot of a public page with cURL:

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
