Colorlib’s roundup titled “22 Best HTML & Bootstrap Footer Templates 2026” lists one uiCookies set of eight templates and Bootstrap Footer V01–V20—21 entries in its contents, not 22. Its options range from simple one-row footers to multi-column layouts, newsletter forms, contact details, and social features. Choose by the job your footer needs to do, then verify the downloaded files’ dependencies, responsive behavior, and license before using them.
How to choose a footer template
A footer should help visitors complete a task: find secondary navigation, reach your business, subscribe, or follow your social channels. Choose a layout around that task rather than adding every available feature.

- Few links: A one-row or minimal footer keeps a small site’s ending compact.
- Many destinations: Multi-column layouts give larger navigation sets room to breathe; a mega-footer can accommodate several categories and supporting content.
- One clear action: A call-to-action or newsletter layout makes sense when that action is a real part of the site.
- Business or publisher details: Contact information, social content, app downloads, and partner links are useful only when the site actually maintains them.
Colorlib’s roundup groups examples across these patterns and visual treatments, including light, dark, neutral, and colorful designs. Its descriptions are useful for narrowing choices, but they are not independent tests of usability or accessibility. See Colorlib’s footer template roundup.
Notable templates by use case
Colorlib describes the following examples and features. Treat these as publisher descriptions, not as a guarantee that a particular download will work with your project unchanged.
#1 Best Overall
- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
For a lightweight, framework-free footer
The uiCookies collection is described as eight single-file HTML templates with inline CSS and no framework requirement. Its range includes a four-column footer, a one-line option, a dark SaaS footer, a call-to-action, a newsletter layout, and an ecommerce mega-footer. This can be a practical starting point when you want to inspect and adapt a self-contained example rather than add a CSS framework.
For a compact Bootstrap-style footer
Bootstrap Footer V03 is described as a minimal single-row design. It suits a site that needs a short set of links or copyright information without a large navigation block.
Rank #2
For a call to action or newsletter
Bootstrap Footer V01 combines a dark call-to-action area with link columns and is described as requiring no JavaScript. V10 prioritizes newsletter signup. A form’s appearance does not provide a working subscription system: connect it to a service or server-side handler that validates and processes submissions.

V06 includes app-store download buttons. V11 is a news-and-links mega-footer and is described as using a few lines of vanilla JavaScript for tooltips. V18 includes a contact form, while V20 places business contact details above link columns. Contact and signup forms need a connected service or server-side handling to receive and process submissions.
For a social-feed footer
Colorlib notes that its social-feed example needs a feed backend. A static snippet alone cannot supply live posts; check what service or server-side integration the downloaded example expects.
Check dependencies, responsive behavior, and licensing
Do not infer framework requirements from a label
Colorlib calls its numbered examples “Bootstrap-ready,” but its descriptions also identify some as needing no Bootstrap files. Inspect the downloaded HTML, CSS, and scripts to find out what it actually depends on. The uiCookies collection, by contrast, is described as framework-free, single-file HTML with inline CSS.

Test the layout at small screen sizes
Check how columns wrap or stack, whether links remain readable, and whether forms and buttons are usable on a phone. Also test keyboard navigation and screen-reader behavior; a visual preview alone does not establish accessibility.

Bootstrap’s official examples page says Bootstrap code is MIT-licensed and the documentation is CC BY 3.0. Those terms do not determine the license for third-party footer downloads. Check the license supplied with the specific files you plan to use. Bootstrap v5.2 examples.

Keep a short-page footer at the bottom without covering content
A footer that rests at the viewport bottom on a short page is different from a footer fixed over the page. Bootstrap’s official v5.2 examples include “Sticky footer” and “Sticky footer navbar” patterns. The page describes the first as attaching a footer to the viewport bottom when page content is short. The inspected documentation identifies itself as Bootstrap v5.2.3; it does not establish the newest Bootstrap release in October 2026 or compatibility across every template and framework version.
A common layout approach is to make the page a vertical flex container, let the main content grow, and place the footer after it. AdminLTE’s guide gives flex-column examples in which the main content grows or the footer receives an automatic margin. This lets the footer follow longer content rather than pinning it on top of the page. AdminLTE’s Bootstrap footer guide.
MDBootstrap documents both basic and advanced footer compositions, including social buttons, an inline form, a four-column link grid, responsive text alignment, and a fixed-bottom option. Fixed positioning can overlap content if the page does not account for the footer’s height, so distinguish it from the short-page flex layout. MDBootstrap footer examples.

Implementation checklist
- Choose a layout based on the links, information, or action visitors need in the footer.
- Inspect the downloaded files and include only the framework assets and scripts they actually require.
- Test column behavior, text, controls, and keyboard access on narrow and wide screens.
- Connect any newsletter, contact, or social-feed feature to the service or backend that powers it.
- Check the license for the exact downloaded files before publishing.
- If the footer should sit at the viewport bottom on short pages, use a page-layout pattern that lets the main content grow; avoid pinning the footer over content.
