Its trade-offs are modest rated speed, small paper trays and short standard-cartridge yields. It is best suited to occasional home documents and photos—not high-volume work or scanning stacks of two-sided pages.
What the HP ENVY 6155e does
HP lists the ENVY 6155e as a print, copy and scan inkjet with mobile fax sending. It does not support multitasking, according to HP’s specifications. A 2.4-inch color touchscreen provides on-device controls.

For wireless printing, HP lists dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and support for Apple AirPrint, the HP app, Chrome OS, Mopria and Android’s HP Print Service Plugin. USB 2.0 device connectivity is also listed. HP’s US product information identifies it as Instant Ink eligible; plan terms and offers can change, so check HP’s current US terms before enrolling.
How fast it prints, and how much paper it holds
HP rates the printer at up to 10 pages per minute in black and 7 pages per minute in color using ISO methods, according to its product datasheet. These are rated speeds, not a guarantee of the time for a particular job; actual results depend on the document and print settings.

The trays are sized for home use rather than extended print runs. HP recommends staying within the recommended monthly volume for optimum device performance; the maximum duty-cycle figure should not be read as a target for routine use.
Automatic duplex printing is not duplex scanning
The 6155e can print on both sides of a sheet automatically. Scanning is a different workflow: the printer has a flatbed scanner, and RTINGS’ independent review reports that it has neither an automatic document feeder (ADF) nor duplex scanning. You will need to place pages on the glass individually, and scan the second side of two-sided originals separately. RTINGS also describes document and scan quality as good, while characterizing the scanner as basic. These are the reviewer’s findings, not results from hands-on testing for this article.

That distinction matters if you regularly digitize multi-page paperwork. For occasional copying or scanning a page at a time, a flatbed may be adequate; for stacks of originals, look for an ADF, and confirm whether it scans both sides automatically.

These are HP’s approximate cartridge-yield figures; actual yield varies with what you print and your settings. The HP 68e EvoMore option offers a higher stated black yield, which may mean fewer black-cartridge changes, but the available figures do not establish which cartridge costs less per page. RTINGS also identifies low cartridge yields as a drawback in its review.
Before buying replacement ink, match the cartridge family to the printer and check current availability. HP lists the model as Instant Ink eligible, but eligibility alone does not establish a plan’s current price or conditions.

Photo printing and supported media
HP lists photo paper and other inkjet photo papers as supported media, with borderless printing up to 8.5 × 12 inches. This makes the 6155e suitable for home photo jobs on compatible paper. The listed maximum describes the supported borderless size; it does not establish identical results across every paper type or print setting.

Who should consider the ENVY 6155e?
- A reasonable fit: households that want print, copy and scan in one device, need automatic two-sided printing, and print modest volumes of documents or photos.
- Consider another workflow: people who frequently print large batches, need a larger paper supply, or want to scan multi-page or two-sided documents quickly. Compare rated speed, cartridge yields, tray capacity, and ADF and duplex-scan support before choosing.
For context, the independent RTINGS review calls out slow printing and low cartridge yields, while finding document and scan quality good. HP’s rated speeds and the review’s evaluation describe different aspects of use; neither makes the printer a high-volume model.
