PC Game Pass is a subscription that lets you download and play supported PC games from a changing library in the Xbox PC app. Xbox’s plan comparison currently lists more than 300 PC games, day-one titles, EA Play, and in-game benefits for PC Game Pass. You do not own the games through the subscription, and the library and features can change by region, plan, platform, and time.
What PC Game Pass includes
PC Game Pass is the PC-focused Xbox Game Pass plan. Xbox currently advertises 300+ PC games, access to day-one releases, EA Play, and in-game benefits. Those are current plan descriptions, not guarantees that a particular title will remain available or that the catalog will stay the same size. Check the PC Game Pass page and live catalog for what is offered in your region.

The subscription gives you access to eligible games while your subscription is active and the game remains in the library. It does not give you permanent ownership. If your subscription expires or is canceled, or if a game leaves the catalog, you lose access through Game Pass. You may be able to buy a game separately, but that is a separate purchase.

- Install or open the Xbox app on a compatible Windows PC and sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your subscription.
- Browse the PC Game Pass library in the app. Confirm the game is currently included for your region and plan before relying on an old list or a listing for another platform.
- Open the game’s page and check its PC system requirements. Select the install option if your PC meets them, then launch the game from the app after installation.
Xbox describes PC play as covering games with native PC support and Xbox Play Anywhere titles. Play Anywhere lets you play supported titles on Xbox console and Xbox on PC while keeping in-game progress; it does not mean every Xbox console game has a PC version. See Xbox on PC for Xbox’s description of PC gaming and Play Anywhere.

Supported games and PC requirements
The Xbox app itself requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 version 22H2 or higher. Xbox lists 150 MB of storage and a 720p display for the app. These are app requirements, not minimum specifications for every game: each title has its own hardware needs, and performance depends on the PC. Some use may require leaving Windows S mode. Check the individual game page for its requirements before installing.
Xbox says catalog titles, count, features, and availability vary over time and by region, plan, and platform. A game being available on console—or included in a list published for another country—does not establish that it is currently playable on PC through your subscription.

A controller is optional. Xbox supports mouse-and-keyboard play as well as Xbox controllers on PC, but input options differ by game. Check the game’s listing if you need a particular control method.

| Plan | Scope and advertised library | New releases and other benefits | Cloud gaming |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC Game Pass | PC; 300+ games | Day-one titles, EA Play, and in-game benefits | Not included |
| Ultimate | Xbox console, PC, and supported devices; 500+ games | Broader access across the listed platforms | Included, subject to supported devices, regions, and plan limits |
| Premium | Xbox console, PC, and supported devices; 200+ games | Xbox-published new games join within one year of launch | Plan page describes access across supported devices; check current regional terms |
| Essential | Xbox console, PC, and supported devices; 50+ games | Does not include new-release titles on day one | Plan page describes access across supported devices; check current regional terms |
The advertised library count is only one comparison point. For a PC-only player, consider whether the games you want are currently in the PC catalog, whether day-one access matters, and whether you would use EA Play or other plan benefits. If you want console access or cloud gaming, compare plans that explicitly offer those features; cloud gaming is not part of PC Game Pass.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Price, billing, and access over time
An Xbox US product-page snapshot accessed October 7, 2026 listed PC Game Pass at $13.99 per month and said recurring billing is on by default. That is a US, date-sensitive listing, not a universal price. Check the checkout page for the current price and terms in your market: Xbox’s US PC Game Pass page.

Because recurring billing is enabled by default, review the renewal details when subscribing. Your Game Pass access lasts only while the subscription is active and the game remains in the library; a specific game’s continued availability is not guaranteed.

Is PC Game Pass right for you?
- It may fit if you want to try a rotating selection of PC games and value the current PC catalog, day-one titles, or EA Play benefits.
- Check carefully first if you are subscribing for one specific game: verify its live PC availability and your computer’s requirements before paying.
- Choose another plan or service if needed if you want cloud gaming or broader console access; PC Game Pass alone does not include cloud gaming.
- Compare the full cost if you expect to play only one or two games. A subscription provides access, not a permanent copy.
