A UFC women’s flyweight title fight is scheduled for five rounds, and the championship weight limit is 125 pounds. If neither fighter finishes the bout early, judges score it round by round using the 10-point must system; the decision label describes how their scorecards compare.
What the 125-pound limit means
Women’s flyweight is the UFC’s 125-pound division. For a title fight, 125 pounds is the championship limit: each athlete must weigh at or below it at the official weigh-in. It does not mean both fighters must weigh exactly 125 pounds. UFC’s weight-class explainer distinguishes title-bout limits from the one-pound allowance generally available in non-title bouts.

How many rounds a title fight has
UFC championship bouts are scheduled for five rounds, compared with three rounds for other bouts in the UFC event example. The schedule is a maximum, not a promise that the fight will last five rounds: a knockout, submission or other finish can end it sooner. UFC women’s flyweight records include both early-round title finishes and decisions after five rounds; see the UFC athlete record for examples. The five-round format is also reflected in UFC event coverage.
How judges score a fight that goes the distance
If the fight is not finished, judges use the 10-point must system under the Unified Rules framework. They score each round separately: ordinarily, the round winner receives 10 points and the opponent receives fewer. Deductions or unusual rounds can affect a card. UFC’s Unified Rules overview describes the system and notes that judging criteria govern scoring.

The judges’ cards are not simply a single score for the entire fight. Each judge records round scores, and those scores are totaled to determine that judge’s result. The applicable judging criteria—not a standalone count of strikes, control time or aggression—guide the round scores. Event rules and the athletic commission overseeing a particular bout may also matter; UFC’s overview is a broad explanation rather than event-specific regulatory guidance.
What unanimous, split and majority decisions mean
Decision terms describe the judges’ scorecards, not a different scoring system. UFC defines the outcomes as follows:

- UFC Top Seller Product
- Poker Night
- Classic Playing Cards with UFC Pride
- Unanimous decision: all judges select the same winner.
- Split decision: the judges are divided between the two fighters.
- Majority decision: two judges select one fighter, while the remaining judge scores the bout a draw.
A draw can likewise be unanimous, majority or split, depending on how the judges’ cards align. UFC’s event and scorecard archive shows how decision results are reported.
How fouls can affect the result
The Unified Rules framework covers matters including rounds, weight classes, judging and fouls. UFC says a foul may result in a penalty at the referee’s discretion. The precise consequence depends on the circumstances and applicable rules, so a general overview should not be treated as a complete foul or deduction guide.
