Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo avoid most interruptions, subscribe to the streaming service’s ad-free tier or upgrade your existing plan. That usually applies to the service’s on-demand library, not necessarily live TV, sports, free ad-supported titles, promotional trailers, or shows with special licensing terms. Check the plan’s current terms for your country and the specific content you watch before paying.
How to switch to an ad-free plan
- Identify what you watch. Check whether it is an on-demand movie or series, a live channel or sports event, or a free ad-supported title. A plan may treat each category differently.
- Compare the service’s current plans. Use its official plan page to check the ad-free tier’s price, country availability, included library, and exceptions. Prices and plan names can change.
- Upgrade through the service. Follow the account or billing options the service presents. For Prime Video, the official instructions say to select “Go Ad Free” on the Prime Video website or, where available, in its app on supported TVs, game consoles, and set-top boxes. Prime Video Help: Ad Free
- Read the exclusions before confirming. Check for labels such as “watch with ads” and look for exceptions covering live programming, sports, licensed shows, or trailers.
- Check bundle terms service by service. One app’s no-ads plan does not necessarily remove ads from another service included in a bundle. Confirm the billing provider’s terms too if you subscribe through a third party.
What “ad-free” actually means
The term is not a universal promise that no advertising or promotional material will ever appear. For example, Prime Video says Ad Free lets subscribers watch “most Prime Video movies and TV shows without advertising interruptions.” Its plan does not remove ads from every kind of content.

Prime Video
Prime Video’s Ad Free subscription covers most on-demand movies and shows across account profiles. Free ad-supported programming, live TV, and sports may still have ads; titles marked “watch with ads” or “with ads” continue to include them. Promotional trailers can also appear before a title. Prime Video says viewers can skip those trailers, but Ad Free does not remove them. See Prime Video’s Ad Free details and its help page on ads and trailers.
Hulu
Hulu’s Premium tier provides its library without ad breaks for most on-demand viewing, but select live and linear content can still include ads. Hulu also identifies certain shows affected by streaming rights: those episodes may have a short break before and after playback. Check the current Hulu plans and pricing page for the plan’s terms.

Disney+ and Hulu content in the same app
Disney+ says on-demand movies and series in its streaming library are available without commercial interruption on Disney+ Premium and certain Premium bundles. Promotional material may still appear. If you watch Hulu content through Disney+, that content follows the ad behavior of your Hulu subscription; a no-ads Disney+ plan does not make an ad-supported Hulu plan ad-free. See Disney+ Help.

- Match the plan to your viewing. If you mainly watch on-demand shows and films, an ad-free tier may address the interruptions you encounter. If you chiefly watch live TV or sports, check those specific exclusions first.
- Compare the whole bundle. Consider the combined cost, whether you will use every included service, and whether each library has its own ad rules.
- Check where you subscribe. Availability and price differ by country. Third-party billing or carrier bundles may also present different terms, so confirm with the billing provider before upgrading.
What you need to watch
Removing ads is a subscription choice, not a TV or router setting. Hulu says viewers need a subscription, a supported device, and a high-speed internet connection. Prime Video’s instructions cover its website and supported apps; neither provider’s cited guidance requires a particular streaming stick, TV model, or router.
